Mix (radio Station)
Mix was a greatest hits radio station in New Zealand, broadcasting music from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Mix was owned and operated by New Zealand Media and Entertainment. Mix is targeted at 35 to 54-year-olds. Its head office and studios were located in central Auckland, alongside New Zealand Media and Entertainment's seven other radio networks. In September 2020, Mix was replaced with Gold (see below). Mix had just one presenter, Breffni O'Rourke in Nelson. Mix played a wide variety of music from superstar acts such as Madonna, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Crowded House, Queen, Talking Heads, Tom Petty and more. New Zealand Media and Entertainment (abbreviated NZME) is a New Zealand newspaper, radio and digital media business. It was launched in 2014 as the formal merger of the New Zealand division of APN News & Media, APN New Zealand; The Radio Network, part of the Australian Radio Network; and GrabOne, New Zealand's biggest ecommerce website. Bob Leahy (broadcaster)
Bob Leahy is a New Zealand radio and television broadcaster. He started broadcasting with pirate radio station Radio Hauraki, on its first day of transmission, in 1966, in a pocket of international water, within New Zealand's Hauraki Gulf. Leahy has voiced many radio shows and news segments over the years, as well as hosting several television shows, in New Zealand. He currently is employed by Newstalk ZB, a news and talkback station affiliated with the modern Radio Hauraki. His voice can still be heard announcing the news, some 45 years later, on Radio Hauraki. Danny Morrison (cricketer)
Daniel Kyle Morrison (born 3 February 1966) is a New Zealand cricket commentator and former cricketer. He specialised as a pace bowler with a useful outswinger. He made his test debut for New Zealand in 1987 at the age of 21 against Australia. International career His most notable bowling accomplishment occurred on 25 March 1994, when he took a hat-trick in a One Day International (ODI) against India. He is one of only three New Zealanders and twenty-two players worldwide to have taken an ODI hat-trick. On 28 January 1997, Morrison made his final appearance for his national team, and contributed 14 runs in a 106-run partnership with Nathan Astle for the tenth wicket against England, to save the match. Alison Mau () (born 14 February 1965), known professionally as Ali Mau, is an Australian-born New Zealand journalist and broadcaster. Keisha Castle-Hughes (born 24 March 1990) is an Australian-born New Zealand actress who rose to prominence for playing Paikea "Pai" Apirana in the film '' Whale Rider''. Greg Johnson (born 7 January 1968) is a New Zealand singer songwriter. Music career Johnson was born in Auckland, New Zealand. Starting out in school orchestras and choirs, Johnson quickly graduated to the early New Wave scene playing in bands from age 15 at many of the infamous live venues that scattered NZ and post punk years, including Mainstreet Cabaret, the Reverb Room, The Windsor Castle and The Esplanade Hotel. In 1987, he signed with Trevor Reekie, who owned indie label Pagan Records, releasing an EP under the name ''This Boy Rob'' before starting The Greg Johnson Set with Nigel Russell of The Spelling Mistakes, Danse Macabre and The Car Crash Set. Skycity Auckland is an entertainment complex and casino in the central business district of Auckland, New Zealand, between Victoria and Federal Streets. Located at the base of the Sky Tower, it was the second casino in New Zealand, and is the only casino in Auckland. The Breeze is a New Zealand radio station playing an adult contemporary music format owned by MediaWorks New Zealand, playing a variety of music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and also current hits. The Breeze network broadcasts in 21 markets throughout New Zealand, with each station presenting a mixture of local and network programming. The Breeze had ratings success becoming New Zealand's number one music station, a rise from fifth in 2016 and in 2021 reaching its highest ever audience over 671,000 listeners. Tim Roxborogh is a New Zealand media personality, travel-writer and music reviewer. He is co-host of ''The Weekend Collective'' on Newstalk ZB and the ''Trip Notes'' podcast by NZH Travel. Maurice Ernest Gibb (; 22 December 1949 – 12 January 2003) was a British musician. He achieved fame as a member of the pop group Bee Gees. Although his elder brother Barry Gibb and fraternal twin brother Robin Gibb were the group's main lead singers, most of their albums included at least one or two songs featuring Maurice's lead vocals, including " Lay It on Me", " Country Woman" and "On Time". The Bee Gees were a musical group formed in 1958 by brothers Barry Gibb, Barry, Robin Gibb, Robin, and Maurice Gibb.
