Milton The Monster
''Milton the Monster,'' also called ''The Milton the Monster Show,'' is an American Saturday morning animated cartoon TV series that ran on ABC from October 9, 1965, to September 8, 1968. It was produced and directed by Hal Seeger. Overview The series starred Milton the Monster, a Frankenstein-looking monster with a flat-topped, seemingly hollow head which emitted various quantities of white steam or smoke based on his mood or situation. He was created by mad scientist Professor Montgomery Weirdo and his assistant Count Kook, who lived in a haunted house on Horror Hill. Milton is a smiling, good-natured fellow, thanks to the Professor having used too much "tincture of tenderness" as explained in the opening theme of each individual Milton the Monster segment. Hal Seeger
Harold Seeger (May 16, 1917 – March 13, 2005) was an American animated cartoon producer and director who owned his own studio the Hal Seeger Studio (Hal Seeger Productions). He is most famous as the creator of the 1960s animated series '' Batfink'', '' Milton the Monster'' and ''Fearless Fly''. During the 1930s and 1940s he was also active as a comics writer and artist, most famously for the ''Betty Boop'' comic strip and '' Leave It to Binky''. Biography Born in Brooklyn, New York, Seeger began working as an animator for Fleischer Studios in the early 1940s. His credits included "A Kick in Time" for the ''Color Classics'' series and a sequence for the feature film ''Mr. Bug Goes to Town''. Muggy-Doo
Muggy-Doo is a talking animal character created by Hal Seeger. Originally appearing in comic books, this character soon went on to animated cartoons as part of the 1965 '' Milton the Monster Show'', but did not last long in either venue. History Comic books Muggy-Doo started out as the feline star of a 1953 comic from Stanhall Publishing entitled Muggy-Doo, Boy Cat. He was a screwball character who bought and sold junk for a living and who always wore a loose-fitting yellow T-shirt, the front of which had writing that kept changing to fit his situation (in the style of the Yellow Kid). The comic also included stories starring other characters, such as Elmer the Elk, Orry the Orangutan, and the porcine Stuffy Derma. Dr. Fu Manchu () is a supervillain who was introduced in a series of novels by the English author Sax Rohmer beginning shortly before World War I and continuing for another forty years.
