Middletown High School (Ohio)
Middletown High School is a public high school in Middletown, Ohio. It is the only public high school in the Middletown City School District. The present location of the school was established in the fall of 1969, being moved from its original location at 1415 Girard Avenue. The old high school was converted to Middletown Middle School for the remainder of its life until it was demolished in September 2018. In 2016, a $96 million renovation project began on the high school, updating the building and arena, as well as adding a new middle school building adjacent to it. The new Wade E. Miller Arena was completed and opened in December 2017, and the rest of the building, as well as the new middle school, officially opened in August 2018. Middletown, Ohio
Middletown is a city located in Butler and Warren counties in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio, about 35 miles (47 km) north of Cincinnati. The population as of the 2020 census was 50,987. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Formerly in Lemon, Turtlecreek, and Franklin townships, Middletown was incorporated by the Ohio General Assembly on February 11, 1833, and became a city in 1886. The city was the home of AK Steel Holding Corporation (formerly Armco), a major steel works founded in 1900. Although offices were moved to nearby West Chester Township in 2007, the AK Steel factory is still in Middletown. Clarence Page (born June 2, 1947) is an American journalist, syndicated columnist, and senior member of the ''Chicago Tribune'' editorial board. Early years Page was born in Dayton, Ohio, and attended Middletown High School in Middletown where he worked on the school's bi-weekly newspaper. After graduating in 1965, he worked freelance as a writer and photographer for ''The Middletown Journal'' and ''The Cincinnati Enquirer'', while he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Ohio University. Jalin Delane Marshall (born July 21, 1995) is an American football wide receiver and return specialist for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent following the 2016 NFL Draft. He played college football at Ohio State. Jerry Ray Lucas (born March 30, 1940) is an American former basketball player. He was a nationally awarded high school player, national college star at Ohio State, and 1960 gold medal Olympian and international player before later starring as a professional player in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Cleveland Charge are an American professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Cleveland, Ohio, and are affiliated with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
