Merrimack Warriors Women's Ice Hockey
The Merrimack Warriors women's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's college ice hockey program. The Warriors are a new member of Hockey East. They play at the 2,549-seat J. Thom Lawler Arena in North Andover, Massachusetts. History The women's ice hockey program began play in the 2013–14 academic year. The team initially played an American Collegiate Hockey Association club schedule before transitioning to the NCAA in 2015–16 and joining Hockey East. Erin Whitten Hamlen
Erin Hamlen (born October 26, 1971) is an American retired ice hockey goaltender and the current head coach of the Merrimack Warriors women's ice hockey program in the Hockey East (HEA) NCAA Division I Women's Hockey conferences and teams, conference of the NCAA Division I. She was among the first women to play professional ice hockey and, on October 30, 1993, she became the first woman to earn a victory in a professional hockey game as a goaltender, in the Toledo Storm's 6–5 win over the Dayton Bombers in the East Coast Hockey League. As a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team, U.S. national team, she competed in and won silver medals at four IIHF World Women's Championship, IIHF Women's World Championships. Professional Women's Hockey Players Association
The Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) organization dedicated to advocating for the promotion of professional women's ice hockey. It was founded in May 2019 following the dissolution of the Canadian Women's Hockey League, which only paid stipends, and player's dissatisfaction in the operations of the National Women's Hockey League. Their goal is to create a sustainable professional league for women's ice hockey in North America. Metropolitan Riveters
The Metropolitan Riveters (originally the New York Riveters) are a professional women's ice hockey team based in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with home games at the American Dream Meadowlands ice rink. They were one of the four charter franchises of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), now known as the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Its team name and logo are based upon Rosie the Riveter, the subject of the World War II-era motivational poster "We Can Do It!". The Riveters played one season in Brooklyn before moving to the New Jersey Devils practice rink in Newark, New Jersey, in 2016. Paige Voight is an American ice hockey forward, currently playing with the Metropolitan Riveters of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). The Connecticut Whale are a professional ice hockey team based in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). They play in Simsbury, Connecticut at the International Skating Center of Connecticut. Dominique Kremer (born June 9, 1997) is an American ice hockey defender, currently playing with the Buffalo Beauts of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Playing career Kremer began skating at the age of three, playing hockey for the first time two years later. She later played with the St. Louis Lady Blues organisation, before attending Shattuck-St. Mary's in Minnesota for high school. The Providence Friars women's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the Providence College. Samantha "Sam" Ridgewell (born July 16, 1996) is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender currently on reserve with PWHL Ottawa of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). Playing career Ridgewell began playing hockey at the age of five, in Conquest, Saskatchewan. Minnesota Golden Gophers Women's Ice Hockey
The Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey team plays for the University of Minnesota at the Twin Cities campus in Minneapolis. The team is one of the members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in Division I. The Golden Gophers have won six NCAA Championships as well as the final American Women's College Hockey Alliance Championship.
