The Caesars Superdome, commonly known as the Superdome (formerly known as Mercedes-Benz Superdome), is a multi-purpose stadium located in the Central Business District of New Orleans, Louisiana. It is the home stadium of the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). Plans were drawn up in 1967 by the New Orleans modernist architectural firm of Curtis and Davis and the building opened as the Louisiana Superdome in 1975. The New Orleans Bowl is an NCAA-sanctioned post-season college football bowl game that has been played annually since 2001. Curtis and Davis Architects and Engineers was an architectural and design firm in New Orleans, Louisiana USA. They designed more than 400 buildings in 30 states in the United States and nine countries worldwide.
