''Mega Man X8'', known as in Japan, is an action platform game developed and published by Capcom originally for the PlayStation 2 on December 7, 2004. It is the eight and most recent installment of the ''Mega Man X'' subseries of the ''Mega Man'' franchise. The game was later re-released on July 24, 2018 worldwide and July 26, 2018 in Japan as a part of ''Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2'' for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows.
