Matthew Fletcher (soccer)
Matthew James Fletcher (born 12 May 1992) is an Australian footballer who plays as a forward for Green Gully in NPL Victoria. Fletcher played professionally in the Football League in England and went on to play for Central Coast Mariners. Club career Career in England Born in Sydney, Australia, Fletcher started out his career in England, with Curl Curl before moving to Sunderland, where he spent three years and was released in 2011. Following his departure from Sunderland, Fletcher signed a short-term deal with Oxford United on 11 December 2011. Fletcher and Oxford United mutually agreed to parted ways in January 2012. After leaving Oxford United, Fletcher joined Championship side Sheffield Wednesday in the summer. In early 2013, Fletcher moved to Cambridge United on loan from Sheffield Wednesday. Central Coast Mariners Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Gosford, on the Central Coast of New South Wales. It competes in the A-League Men, under licence from the Australian Professional Leagues (APL). The Mariners were founded in 2004 and are one of the eight original A-League teams. It is the first professional sports club from the Gosford region to compete in a national competition. The 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup was the 18th FIFA U-20 World Cup. Colombia hosted the tournament between 29 July and 20 August 2011, with matches being played in eight cities. The tournament was won by Brazil who claimed their fifth title. At a FIFA Executive Committee meeting held in Sydney on 26 May 2008, Colombia beat the only other candidate country, Venezuela, for the right to organize the U-20 World Cup. It was suggested by the then-Vice President of Colombia Francisco Santos Calderón that it was needed to withdraw from the race with Brazil to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup so the nation could concentrate on hosting the "best possible games". In an inspection tour of development works in March 2010, Jack Warner, then the vice president of FIFA, said that the completion of this tournament could provide Colombia with a launch pad to become a possible host for the 2026 World Cup. Blacktown City Football Club is an Australian semi-professional football club based in Blacktown, New South Wales. Founded in 1953, the club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues NSW. Blacktown City's home ground is Blacktown City Sports Centre in the suburb of Seven Hills. Paul Michael Okon (born 5 April 1972) is a former Australian soccer player. He has Belgian citizenship. He previously captained the Australian National Team and has represented Australia Olympic Football Team at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Okon's career began at Marconi Stallions in the old NSL in Australia. He then went on to play at many European clubs including S.S. Lazio and Fiorentina in Italy's Serie A, Vicenza Calcio in Serie B, Middlesbrough F.C. and Leeds United F.C. in the English Premiership, Club Brugge, K.V.
