Mastropiero Que Nunca
Mastropiero que nunca was a theatrical humour/music show by Les Luthiers. It was first performed on Friday 9 September 1977 and last done on Sunday 27 February 1983 (although it was headlining only during 1977 and 1978). It consisted of nine new (never performed previously) live numbers, which ranged from a madrigal to a salsa skit. It was the first show where Les Luthiers experimented with the use of light as a dramatic element, collaborating with stage lighting professional Tito Diz. The album recorded live in the Teatro Coliseo, Buenos Aires. Les Luthiers
Les Luthiers is an Argentine comedy-musical group, very popular also in several other Spanish-speaking countries including Paraguay, Guatemala, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Bolivia, Cuba, Costa Rica and Venezuela. They were formed in 1967 by Gerardo Masana, during the height of a period of very intense choral music activity in Argentina's state universities. Their outstanding characteristic is the home-made musical instruments (hence the name ''luthiers'', French for "musical instrument maker"), some of them extremely sophisticated, which they skillfully employ in their recitals to produce music and texts full of high class and refined humor. ''Adelantado'' (, , ; meaning "advanced") was a title held by Spanish nobles in service of their respective kings during the Middle Ages. It was later used as a military title held by some Spanish ''conquistadores'' of the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. Marcos Mundstock
Marcos Mundstock (May 25, 1942 – April 22, 2020) was an Argentine musician, writer, comedian, actor, broadcaster and copywriter. He had dual nationality of Argentina and Spain, having obtained the latter in 2012. Born in Santa Fe, Argentina, he was best known as a founding member of Les Luthiers, their emcee, and as writer of many of their shows and lyrics. He also invented one of their most famous instruments, the gom-horn (a trumpet parody) and occasionally played keyboards and percussion for their numbers. Mostly, his role was that of the 'non-musician' member, in spite of having sung for their (mostly operatic) pieces with some frequency. In the beginning of 2020, it was announced that, due to health problems, Mundstock would not be a part of Les Luthiers for the year. Daniel Abraham Rabinovich Aratuz (November 18, 1943 – August 21, 2015) was an Argentine musician, writer, humorist, lawyer and singer. He has been a member of Les Luthiers since 1965 (during the "prehistory" of the group) until 2017, when he retired. Payada
The ''payada'' is a folk music tradition native to Argentina, Uruguay, southern Brasil, and south Paraguay as part of the ''Gaucho'' culture and literature. In Chile it is called ''paya'' and performed by ''huasos''. It is a performance of improvised ten-line verse called '' décimas'' usually accompanied by guitar.
