Massimo D'Alelio
Massimo "Mimmo" D'Alelio (1916–1998) was an Italian bridge player. He won 13 world championships with the Italian national Blue Team, playing in partnership with Camillo Pabis Ticci during the second half of his career. D'Alelio was born in Naples. He was a journalist who played bridge as an avocation. He was a student and partner of the Blue Team founder and theorist Eugenio Chiaradia. The team retired together after its 1969 Bermuda Bowl world championship and returned together for a successful defense of the quadrennial World Team Olympiad championship in 1972. D'Alelio then retired permanently for health reasons. As a member of the team he had played four systems with four partners. Contract bridge, or simply bridge, is a trick-taking card game using a standard 52-card deck. In its basic format, it is played by four players in two competing partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other around a table. Camillo Pabis Ticci
Camillo Pabis Ticci (1920–2003) was an Italian bridge player. He joined the national Blue Team in 1963 and played in the Bermuda Bowl tournament with Giorgio Belladonna, whose long-time partner Walter Avarelli was unavailable. From 1964 he played with Massimo D'Alelio, winning 8 world championship titles. Born in Florence, Pabis-Ticci was an engineer by profession. For many years he wrote "a bridge column in the magazine ''l'Europeo'' which was the most successful of its kind in Italy". Beside the Arno that he and D'Alelio used, he developed the standard system of Tuscany, in effect. Eugenio Chiaradia
Eugenio Chiaradia (1911–1977), nicknamed "Professor", was an Italian bridge player. A professor of philosophy, he was one of the early bridge theorists and the principal author of the Neapolitan Club system, the predecessor of the Blue Club. Chiaradia won six Bermuda Bowl titles (1957, 1958, 1959, 1961, 1962 and 1963) with the Blue Team, three of those in partnership with Guglielmo Siniscalco. He left the team after the 1963 Bermuda Bowl, and went to live in Sao Paulo, coaching the Brazilian team. The Bermuda Bowl is a biennial contract bridge world championship for national . The World Team Olympiad was a contract bridge meet organized by the World Bridge Federation every four years from 1960 to 2004.
