Marlow is a hamlet in north Herefordshire, England. It lies in the civil parish of Leintwardine, on the B4385 road north of that village. The River Clun flows to the west. Immediately to the north and west is the border with Shropshire. On the other side of the Clun (and in Shropshire) is the hamlet of Broadward. Between Marlow and Leintwardine is Stormer Hall. Marlow Heights is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The population was 6,169 at the 2020 census. The Marlow Heights Shopping Center first opened in 1957 (but extended in 1960 with Hecht's), adjacent to the large community of Hillcrest Heights. It was joined ten years later, in 1967, by the two-level Iverson Mall, the Washington metropolitan area's first enclosed mall. Marlow is a town in Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 749 at the 2020 census. Marlow is home to Honey Brook State Forest. History The town was first granted in 1753 by colonial Governor Benning Wentworth as "Addison", after Joseph Addison, writer and for a time under- secretary of state for England. Addison had signed the appointment papers making the governor's father, John Wentworth, lieutenant-governor of New Hampshire in 1717. As a result of the French and Indian War, few original grantees settled here, so it was regranted on October 7, 1761, to William Noyes and 69 others, the majority from Lyme, Connecticut. Marlow Town Regatta And Festival
Marlow Town Regatta and Festival (MTRF) is a rowing regatta and festival held in Marlow on the River Thames in southern England. Marlow's annual rowing regatta was founded in 1855. The first MTRF in its current form was held on 16 June 2001 and was opened by the joint MTRF presidents, Sir Steve and Lady Redgrave (the five-time Gold Medal-winning Olympic rower and his wife). The regatta is held three weeks before the more famous Henley Royal Regatta, upriver from Marlow at Henley-on-Thames. The MTRF remains a major event in the town and surrounding areas social calendars. The Saturday Regatta is a ticket event run on a not for profit basis by a volunteer organising committee. The Sunday of the weekend hosts a family festival named the Marlow Festival which is free entry and also hosts the Marlow Dragon Boat festival during the day. The Marlow Regatta is an international rowing regatta, that takes place annually at Dorney Lake, Buckinghamshire near Eton next to the River Thames in southern England.
