''Marcher dans le sable'' is a 2000 album recorded by French singer Gérald De Palmas. It was his third studio album, and his most successful in terms of sales. It reached number two in France and in Belgium (Wallonia) and remained for almost two years on the chart. The album was awarded 'French album of the year' at the 2002 NRJ Music Awards and allowed De Palmas to win a Victoire de la Musique, the same year, in the category 'Male group or artist of the year'. It provided three singles : " J'en rêve encore" was the most successful (#7 in France, No. 4 in Belgium Wallonia), followed by the two moderate hits "Une seule vie (marcher dans le sable)" and "Tomber" (respectively No. 30 and No. 35 in France). Gérald De Palmas
Gérald Gardrinier (; born 14 October 1967 in Saint-Denis, Réunion), better known by his stage name Gérald de Palmas, is a French singer-songwriter. Biography Early life Gérald de Palmas was born in France. His father was a land surveyor from Brittany and his mother was a French teacher from Réunion. At the age of 10, De Palmas' family left Réunion, to live in Aix-en-Provence, France. At the age of 13, he discovered ska music, and became a fan of the UK band The Specials. Then he met Étienne Daho and formed a group called ''Les Max Valentin'' together with Edith Fambuena and Jean-Louis Pierot. They released the single 'Les Maux Dits' in 1987, but De Palmas was uncomfortable with this group, and went solo. After seven years of writing and singing solo, Da Palmas won a talent contest on the French M6 TV network. J'en Rêve Encore
"J'en rêve encore" (English : "I Still Dream about It") is a 2000 pop / rock song recorded by French singer-songwriter Gérald de Palmas. It was the first single from his third album ''Marcher dans le sable'' on which it appears as second track and was released on 6 November 2000. It was written by Jean-Jacques Goldman and composed by Gérald De Palmas. It was successful in France and Belgium (Wallonia) where it was a top ten hit. Background and release De Palmas explained how the song was created : "After my second album, I tried to compose, and what I do didn't really liked me. I went into a sort of vicious circle. I went to see Jean-Jacques Goldman, asking him, possibly, a text on one of four or five songs that I've composed at the time." He also said that Goldman helped him to regain self-confidence after his period of artistic vacuum. An NRJ Music Award (commonly abbreviated as an NMA) is an award presented by the French radio station NRJ to honor the best in the French and worldwide music industry. The awards ceremony, created in 2000 by NRJ in partnership with the television network TF1, traditionally took place every year in mid-January at Cannes (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France) as the opening of MIDEM (''Marché international de l'édition musicale''). Victoires de la Musique (; en, Victories of Music) is an annual French award ceremony where the Victoire accolade is delivered by the French Ministry of Culture to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry. Jean-Jacques Goldman (; born 11 October 1951) is a French singer-songwriter and music record producer. He is hugely popular in the French-speaking world. Since the death of Johnny Hallyday in 2017 he has been the highest grossing living French pop rock act. Born in Paris and active in the music scene since 1975, he had a highly successful solo career in the 1980s, and was part of the trio Fredericks Goldman Jones, releasing another string of hits in the 1990s. Maxime Le Forestier (; born 10 February 1949 as Bruno Le Forestier) is a French singer-songwriter. Life and career Bruno Le Forestier was born on 10 February 1949 in Paris to father Robert Le Forestier and mother Genevieve (née Lili 1917–2010) who had lived in England. He had two older sisters, Annette (born 1943) and Catherine (born 1946). His musical training started on the violin. He attended the Lycée Condorcet, where he studied literature. In 1965, he formed a duo (''Cat et Maxime'') with his sister Catherine. Playing at cabaret venues on Paris' Left Bank, the pair met and formed a friendship with Georges Moustaki.
