MTV Music (Italian TV Channel)
MTV Music is an Italian pay television music channel operated by Paramount Networks EMEAA. As the main MTV brand has deviated from its original purpose and increased competition from other music channels and online services, MTV launched a new music channel, MTV Music. The first version of the channel had launched in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, Ireland on 1 February 2011 replacing MTV Shows. The Italy, Italian version of the new channel then channel launched on 1 March 2011, replacing MTV Plus. It is expected that MTV may launch MTV Music channels in other regions under a new global strategy to simplify the branding used across territories. The main MTV station had been sold to Sky Italia on August 1, 2015 in Italy (DTT only). It had no effect on MTV Music, as this TV station was not sold and continues to be a Paramount property. 576i
576i is a standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy color encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL, PAL/ SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. The ''576'' identifies a vertical resolution of 576 lines, and the ''i'' identifies it as an interlaced resolution. The field rate, which is 50 Hz, is sometimes included when identifying the video mode, i.e. 576i50; another notation, endorsed by both the International Telecommunication Union in BT.601 and SMPTE in SMPTE 259M, includes the frame rate, as in 576i/25. VH1 Italia is a 24-hour music entertainment channel operated by Paramount Networks EMEAA which launched on July 1, 2016 replacing the Italian version of MTV Music which launched on March 1, 2011 on digital terrestrial television. VH1 Italia is available over-the-air across Italy. The channel uses the slogan 'Music 4 Life' on all online and on-air branding. The channel uses the existing VH1 branding and idents from VH1's international creative campaign. The channel uses a mix of domestic and non-domestic music videos and artists. MTV (Originally an initialism of Music Television) is an American cable channel that launched on August 1, 1981. Based in New York City, it serves as the flagship property of the MTV Entertainment Group, part of Paramount Media Networks, a division of Paramount Global. MTV Global (formerly as MTV Europe) is the international version of the American TV channel MTV, a 24-hour music and entertainment TV channel that began broadcasting on August 1, 1987, as part of the worldwide MTV network. ''Total Request Live'' is the Italian version of the American television program of the same name that originated in 1999. Originally broadcast weekdays at 2.00 p.m., its time slot was changed as it ran into its second season. It was broadcast at 3.00 p.m. starting in 2002. The main presenters, during the ten seasons, were Alessandro Cattelan, Giorgia Surina, Marco Maccarini, Carolina Di Domenico, and Federico Russo. As from June 2, 2008 the show is hosted by Elena Santarelli and Carlo Pastore, who presented another music programme of MTV, ''Your Noise''. During her episode of May 15, 2009, Elena Santarelli, because of her maternity, left the show. Elisabetta Canalis came replacing her. In 2010 the show had been completely renovated and have changed his name in ''TRL On the Road'', so the show wasn't hosted from a stage, but from a truck to make viewers more involved. ''Fame'' is an American television series originally produced between January 7, 1982, and May 18, 1987, by Eilenna Productions in association with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Television and sponsored by Yamaha musical instruments, which are prominently showcased in the episodes. The show is based on the 1980 motion picture of the same name. In 2021, it was announced that the series would be rebooted by Paramount+, which premiered on July 29, 2021.
