M84 Camouflage Pattern
The M/84 camouflage pattern ( da, M/84 Pletsløring, lit=M/84 spot camouflage), is the former camouflage pattern of the Danish military. The M/84 is a derivative of the '' Flecktarn B'' pattern produced by the German firm Marquardt & Schulz. Using the same shapes and pattern, the number of colours was changed from 5 to 3 – choosing olive green, light green and black to better match the colouration of the Danish woodland environment. The use of spots creates a "dithering" effect, which eliminates hard boundaries between the different colors in much the same way the squares in the newest digital camouflage patterns do. The pattern is designed for use in temperate woodland terrain. It has been adapted with a desert camouflage variant by varying the colors. It has since been replaced by M/11. Underwater Offence Group Command
The Underwater Offence ( tr, Su Altı Taarruz), or SAT, is the special operations forces unit of the Turkish Navy. Turkish Navy's first and only navy commando unit consisting of highly skilled soldiers selected from among the officers and petty officers of the Turkish Navy. They are affiliated to the Naval Operation Directorate. The 13e Régiment de Dragons Parachutistes ( en, 13th Parachute Dragoon Regiment) or 13e RDP is a special reconnaissance regiment of the French Army. It is a unit of the French Army Special Forces Command, the latter itself being under the Special Operations Command. The regiment is based in Martignas-sur-Jalle. Constituted in the form of a regiment of dragoons (mounted cavalry) during the ''Ancien Regime'' by the Marquis de Barbezières in Languedoc in 1676, this cavalry regiment, one of the oldest, adopted the appellation of 13e Régiment de dragons ( en, 13th Dragoon Regiment) during the reorganization of the French cavalry units in 1791. Home Guard (Denmark)
The Danish Home Guard ( da, Hjemmeværnet) (HJV) is the fourth service of the Danish military. It was formerly concerned only with the defence of Danish territory, but since 2008, it has also supported the Danish military efforts in Afghanistan and Kosovo. Service is voluntary and unpaid, though members' loss of income from time taken off work, transport expenses and other basic expenses are compensated. However, workshop and depot staff plus clerks and senior officers are all paid. The unarmed Women's Army Corps (''Lottekorpset'') was merged in 1989 with the then all-male Home Guard to form the present, armed unisex Home Guard. Its top authority is the General Command (HJK) which is managed directly by the Danish Ministry of Defence (FMN). UNMEE
The United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE) was established by the United Nations Security Council in July 2000 to monitor a ceasefire in the border war that began in 1998 between Ethiopia and Eritrea. First military troops Netherlands - Canadian battalion 'NECBAT' arrived and established bases in the region in December 2000. The mission was formally abandoned in July 2008 after experiencing serious difficulties in sustaining its troops due to fuel stoppages and after due consideration of remaining options. SHIRBRIG
The Standby High-Readiness Brigade (SHIRBRIG) was a Danish-led initiative associated with the United Nations that aimed to create a standby force ready for peacekeeping. It was formed largely as a result of the genocide in Rwanda and other atrocities. Its permanent headquarters were in Garderkasernen (Garder barracks), Høvelte 30 kilometres north of Copenhagen in Denmark. It was declared ready for operations on January 1, 2000, and deployed to the Horn of Africa in November 2000 to form the core of the UN Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE) under the command of Royal Netherlands Marine Corps Major General Patrick Cammaert. The Brigade returned from that mission six months later and began a training cycle. It announced that it would again be ready for action as of January 1, 2002.
