Mícheál Ó HUanacháin
Mícheál Ó hUanacháin is an Irish poet and journalist from Dublin, Ireland. He worked as a reporter and broadcaster for RTÉ until his retirement in 2009. Journalism Ó hUanacháin was first appointed as continuity announcer for RTÉ Radio in 1968. During his career, he worked as a reporter, presenter and editor on television, radio and online media, with an interest in Irish language and culture, the Middle East and Islamic affairs. He retired in July 2009. He reports on soccer matches as a freelance journalist, mainly on matches played by Bray Wanderers F.C. and Kerry F.C.. His reports on Kerry F.C. are published biweekly in the West Kerry Live local newspaper. Writing career Ó hUanacháin's first collection of poetry was published in the early 1970s. Ballyferriter
( Irish, meaning 'Ferriter's Townland' ) unofficially anglicised as Ballyferriter, or also known as , is a Gaeltacht village in County Kerry, Ireland. It is in the west of the (Dingle) peninsula and according to the 2002 census, about 75% of the town's population speak the Irish language on a daily basis. The village is named after the Norman-Irish family who settled in in the late medieval period. The last Chief of the Name was the seventeenth-century Bard and leader who was executed. The older Irish name for the village ('the little dairy place') is still used locally. The village lies at the base of Croaghmarhin Hill near (formerly also called ''Smerwick Harbour'') on the Dingle Peninsula, on the R559 regional road which loops around the west of the peninsula, beginning and ending in Dingle Town. Sinéad Ní Uallacháin
Sinéad Ní Uallacháin is an Irish people, Irish journalist, actress, artist, podcaster, continuity announcer and radio presenter. Early life Ní Uallacháin was born in Ballineanig, County Kerry. She went on to study art and architecture at the Dublin Institute of Technology in Bolton Street. Career Ní Uallacháin became a radio producer and a broadcaster with RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, presenting the weekday show ''Sinéad ar Maidin'' (Sinéad in the Morning") until May 2019, and contributing to ''Cormac ag a Cúig''. She did not give up her art however and has illustrated a children's book by Mícheál Ó hUanacháin amongst other works. Ní Uallacháin has been a judge on TG4's series ''Réalta agus Gaolta''. "Olé, Olé, Olé" is a chant used in sport. The chant is based on the Spanish interjection "Olé" used to signify approval by the spectators in bullfighting; however, the chant is not used in Spain. The popular version of the "Olé, Olé, Olé" chant was first used in a 1985 song written by the Belgians Roland Verlooven and Grand Jojo called "Anderlecht Champion" as "Allez, Allez, Allez, Allez" in French, but became "Olé, Olé, Olé, Olé" in Spanish in a version titled "E Viva Mexico" created for the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. This version of the chant quickly spread around the world and chanted by football fans in tribute to a team or a player, and it is now also widely used in other sports as well as in non-sporting events.
