Lost Dogs are an American musical supergroup formed in 1991, comprising vocalists, songwriters, and guitarists from multiple Christian alternative rock bands. Their current lineup includes Terry Scott Taylor ( Daniel Amos, The Swirling Eddies), Michael Roe (The 77s), Derri Daugherty and Steve Hindalong ( The Choir). The original lineup included Gene Eugene (Adam Again), who died in 2000. The band's eclectic blending of folk, blues, country, and rock has been characterized as "a sort of CCM equivalent to the Traveling Wilburys". The band released their debut album '' Scenic Routes'' in 1992 as a one-time collaboration. Lost Dogs concert performances are filled with between-song jokes and one-liners between the band members (usually poking fun at each other). Many Lost Dogs albums include at least one or two cover songs. Adam Again
Adam Again was an American rock band active from 1982 until the death of founder, leader and vocalist Gene Eugene in 2000. Other band members included Riki Michele on vocals, Paul Valadez on bass, Jon Knox on drums, and Greg Lawless on guitar. Dan Michaels often played saxophone. Thom Jurek of AllMusic described the group as "inventive and artfully canny." Mark Allan Powell maintained that the group "priortized musical excellence and lyrical depth over commercial appeal or even accessibility." The band never achieved commercial viability and disbanded when Eugene was found dead in his recording studio on March 20, 2000 from an undiagnosed brain aneurism. Valadez died on September 20, 2013. Jimmy Abegg
Jimmy Abegg (born December 29, 1954), also known as Jimmy A, is an American musician who grew up in Alliance, Nebraska and is currently living in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1985, Abegg was a founding member of the progressive rock band Vector from Sacramento, California, which included Steve Griffith, Charlie Peacock, Aaron Smith (drums 1985) and Bruce Spencer (drums 1985–89). In the 1990s, he played as a solo musician, then joined Rich Mullins' A Ragamuffin Band and was also a member of Charlie Peacock's Acoustic Trio. He has created a variety of album artwork for artists such as Phil Keaggy, Michael W. Smith, and Chris Taylor among others. Abegg has written or co-written songs for Susan Ashton and Ji Lim. He completed a series for Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Abegg also collaborated with Kevin Max on a collection of illustrated poems entitled ''At the Foot of Heaven'' in 1995. "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)" is a 1958 novelty Christmas carol written and recorded by Ross Bagdasarian (under the stage name of David Seville). Bagdasarian sang the Christmas carol, varying the tape speeds to produce high-pitched "chipmunk" voices, with the vocals credited to Alvin and the Chipmunks, Seville's cartoon virtual band and later media franchise. The song was nominated for Record of the Year in the 1st Annual Grammy Awards, where it also won three Awards. After the success of "Witch Doctor" in early 1958, Liberty Records asked Bagdasarian to create another successful novelty record. He then came up with three singing chipmunks named after Liberty Records executives. The song begins with Dave asking the Chipmunks if they're ready to sing the song. "Lord Protect My Child" is a song written by Bob Dylan, who recorded it at New York City's The Power Station in ten takes on May 2, 1983. The song is an outtake from Dylan's album ''Infidels'' that was later included in ''The Bootleg Series Volumes 1–3 (Rare & Unreleased) 1961–1991'' on Volume 3. It is not known why Dylan decided not to include "Lord Protect My Child" on ''Infidels''. It is a Christian song, the lyrics of which express concern for Dylan's child.
