Morning Edition (Irish TV Programme)
''RTÉ Morning Edition'' is an Irish news television programme that was broadcast on RTÉ One and RTÉ News Now from 28 January 2013 to 28 November 2014. The programme was presented by Keelin Shanley and Anthony Murnane. It was produced by RTÉ News and Current Affairs. Format The programme aired every Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 11:00 and provided a live morning mix of news, sport, business, topical discussion and entertainment. The show was a success upon its launch. The first show started at 09:00 on 28 January 2013 and the first season ran until May 2013. The show returned for a second season on 2 September 2013. Current Affairs (news Format)
Current affairs is a genre of broadcast journalism in which major news stories are discussed at length in a timely manner. This differs from regular News broadcasting, news broadcasts that place emphasis on news reports presented for simple presentation as soon as possible, often with a minimum of analysis. It is also different from the news magazine show format in that events are discussed immediately. Keelin Shanley
Caoilfhionn Shanley-Ferguson (24 August 1968 – 8 February 2020), also known as Keelin Shanley, was a journalist, newsreader and presenter with RTÉ, Ireland's national radio and television station, where she had presented the '' Six One News'', alongside Caitríona Perry from January 2018 until her death in February 2020. Early life The daughter of Derry Shanley and his wife Orna, Keelin Shanley grew up in Monkstown with her siblings. She studied biochemistry at Trinity College Dublin. Career Shanley worked as a reporter and presenter with RTÉ's flagship current affairs television programme, ''Prime Time'' for over 10 years, Shanley made a number of award-winning documentaries. RTÉ Television Centre
The RTÉ Television Centre is a television studio building which is owned by Ireland's national public service broadcaster . It is part of the RTÉ campus located at Donnybrook in South Dublin. The building houses the main production studios for RTÉ Television, the control rooms for all RTÉ's TV channels, and RTÉ's main newsroom. RTÉ One is an Irish free-to-air flagship television channel owned and operated by RTÉ. Virgin Media One, also called Virgin One, is an Irish free-to-air television channel owned by Virgin Media Ireland (part of Liberty Global), operated through its subsidiary Virgin Media Television. ''Ireland AM'' is an Irish morning television show on Virgin Media One. It airs live every weekday from 07:00 to 10:00, and weekends from 9:00 to 12:00.
