Monaco In The Eurovision Song Contest
Monaco has been represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 24 times since its debut in . The country's only win in the contest came in , with "" performed by Séverine. As a result, Monaco was expected to host the contest in , but it ultimately declined. The Monégasque participating broadcaster in the contest was (TMC). Monaco is the only microstate to have won the contest to date. Monaco finished last at its first contest in 1959 before achieving three top three results in the 1960s. Two of these were achieved by François Deguelt, who finished third with "" in and second with "" in . "" by Romuald also finished third in . Olivier Toussaint
Olivier Toussaint is a French composer, pop singer, orchestra arranger, company manager, and record producer. He also represented Monaco in the 1978 Eurovision Song Contest. Early life He was born in Paris, in a family of classical musicians. His great-grandfather, Gilbert Duprez was a very well known opera singer. His grandparents were both opera singers, and his mother was a concert pianist who played in big orchestras in France. At the insistence of his mother, he studied economics and social sciences at University in Paris. But as soon as he graduated, he was back making music. He worked professionally as a singer and musician, playing guitar. At the same time he was involved in writing music for television and the cinema. Classical music was a part of his life due to his family background, but it did not fit to his musical expectations. Séverine Ferrer (born 31 October 1977) is a French singer. Biography Ferrer was born in Montpellier and grew up on the island of Réunion. In 1991, Ferrer and her family moved to Paris. She began her career by appearing in television series. In 2004, Ferrer released a new album and a clothing line for pregnant women. ARD is a joint organisation of Germany's regional Public broadcasting, public-service broadcasters.
