The Ministry of Youth and Children is a ministerial department in the Government of Spain responsible for proposing and carrying out the government policy on matters of youth and protection of minors. The department was created as part of the Sánchez III Government as a split from the Ministry of Social Rights and 2030 Agenda. It is headed by Sira Rego. Ministry Of Social Rights And 2030 Agenda
The Ministry of Social Affairs (MAS), since 2020 known as Ministry of Social Rights and 2030 Agenda, is a department of the Government of Spain responsible for the government policies on social services, family, minors protection, disability and prevention of youth crime, adoptions and foster care and the promotion of cultural communication and youth association. Likewise, the department is responsible for the government policies on animal welfare and UN Sustainable Development Goals. The current minister is Ione Belarra, who was appointed on 31 March 2021. Sira Rego
Sira Abed Rego (; born 20 November 1973) is a Spanish dietitian and politician affiliated with United Left (IU) who has served as Minister of Youth and Children in the Government of Spain since 2023. Rego was a Member of the European Parliament between 2019 and 2023. Career As an MEP she was nominated as European United Left–Nordic Green Left's candidate for President of the European Parliament, placing fourth in the election held on 3 July 2019. On 15 September 2022, she was one of 16 MEPs who voted against condemning President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua for human rights violations, in particular the arrest of Bishop Rolando Álvarez. The Spanish government departments, commonly known as Ministries, are the main bodies through which the Government of Spain exercise its executive authority. They are also the top level of the General State Administration. Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón (; born 29 February 1972) is a Spanish politician who has been Prime Minister of Spain since June 2018. He has also been Secretary-General of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) since June 2017, having previously held that office from 2014 to 2016.
