MediaMarkt is a German multinational chain of stores selling consumer electronics with over 1,000 retail locations in ten countries in Europe. With the Saturn (store), Saturn chain of stores it constitutes Media-Saturn Holding, owned by the retail company Ceconomy, which was demerged from Metro AG, Metro Group in 2017. History MediaMarkt was founded by entrepreneurs Leopold Stiefel, Walter Gunz, Erich Kellerhals, Markus Fernandez and Helga Kellerhals. The first store opened on 24 November 1979 in Munich. By 1985, nine other stores had opened near Munich. In 1988 Kaufhof Warenhaus AG acquired a 54 percent majority in the holding company of the media stores founded in 1979. In 1989 expansion began in neighboring countries. MediaMarkt took over the competing retail chain Saturn in 1990, in which Kaufhof was already involved. Markt Schwaben is a town in Bavaria, Germany. It lies roughly 23 km east of Munich on the northern edge of the Upper Bavarian district of Ebersberg (district), Ebersberg. Neighbouring communities are Anzing, Forstinning, Pliening and Poing, Germany, Poing, (all in Ebersberg district) as well as Finsing, Ottenhofen and Pastetten (all in Erding (district), Erding district). Geography Through the town flows the Hennigbach, into which empties the Gigginger Bach southwest of Markt Schwaben. The River Sempt flows by to the east. Markt Indersdorf is a municipality in the district of Dachau in Bavaria in Germany. Geography Markt Indersdorf is located on the Glonn River. The Glonn divides the two main towns Markt Indersdorf and Kloster(monastery) Indersdorf. Markt Indersdorf is the largest town in the Dachau hinterland with a central location within the Dachau district. The closest villages are Langenpettenbach, Engelbrechtsmühle, Glonn, Karphofen, Strassbach, and Untermoosmühle. Other villages further out are Ainhofen, Eichstock, Langenpettenbach and Hirtlbach. History The area around Indersdorf has been inhabited by humans for thousands of years. Remains of Celtic/Vindelici structures near Arnzell (between Indersdorf and Altomünster) have been discovered. ("Hacke's Market") is a square in the central Mitte locality of Berlin, Germany, situated at the eastern end of Oranienburger Strasse. It is an important transport hub and a starting point for the city's nightlife. The Markt ( Dutch for "Market") is the central square of Bruges, West Flanders, Belgium. It is located in the city centre and covers an area of about . On the south side of the square is one of the city's most famous landmarks, the 13th-century Belfry. History The square has attracted many people since the 10th century and the first international annual fair was held around 1200. The first hall was built around 1220 as a place to sell merchants' goods. They were small wooden buildings on the south side of the square. Around 1240, a larger building with a wooden tower was built. In 1280, it was destroyed by a fire and rebuilt in stone from 1291 to 1296. It was also decided to build a "Waterhall" over the Reie river nearby, on the east side of the square. The Waterhall was a covered unloading and storage place for boats from Damme.
