Mandie
The Mandie books are a children's historical mystery series written by Lois Gladys Leppard. There are forty novels in the main series and eight in the junior series, along with several special books. The story starts around the year 1900 when Mandie finds a mystery to solve with her friends like Joe Woodard and Celia Hamilton. The setting is mostly in North Carolina in the early 20th century, although Mandie and her friends travel to Charleston, Washington, D.C., Europe and New York City throughout the series. The series was successful; by 2001, more than six million ''Mandie'' books had been sold. Leppard said that she could write a ''Mandie'' book in two weeks, barring any interruptions. A direct-to-video film based on the first book, ''Mandie and the Secret Tunnel'', was produced in 2009, starring Lexi Johnson and Dean Jones. Philip Mandie
Philip Mandie KC, (born Melbourne, 25 September 1942) was a judge on the Supreme Court of Victoria from May 1994 to August 2012. He was Judge in charge of the Commercial List (1995–2001), Corporations List (1995–2001, 2004–2005) and Victorian Taxation Appeals List (2007–2009); Chair of the Supreme Court Library Investment Committee (2002–2012), sometime member of the Supreme Court Executive Committee, Library Committee and Chair of the Supreme Court IT Committee . He was elevated to the Court of Appeal from the Trial Division in 2009. Mandie retired from the Supreme Court of Victoria on 31 August 2012. In July 2013 Mandie was appointed a Reserve Judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria for a term of five years. Mandie Elizabeth Fletcher (born 27 December 1954) is a British television and film director. Mandie Landry is an American attorney and progressive politician serving as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from the 91st district. Elected in November 2019, she assumed office on January 13, 2020. Early life and education Landry was born and raised in New Orleans. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Notre Dame in 2000 and a Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2005. Methaqualone
Methaqualone is a hypnotic sedative. It was sold under the brand names Quaalude ( ) and Sopor among others, which contained 300 mg of methaqualone, and sold as a combination drug under the brand name Mandrax, which contained 250 mg methaqualone and 25 mg diphenhydramine within the same tablet, mostly in Europe. Commercial production of methaqualone was halted in the mid-1980s due to widespread abuse and addictiveness. It is a member of the quinazolinone class. Medical use The sedative–hypnotic activity of methaqualone was recognized in 1955. Its use peaked in the early 1970s for the treatment of insomnia, and as a sedative and muscle relaxant. Methaqualone was not recommended for use while pregnant and is in pregnancy category D.
