Luke Young (footballer, Born 1979)
Luke Paul Young (born 19 July 1979) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. Young began his career at Tottenham Hotspur in 1997, before moving to Charlton Athletic in 2001, where he spent six seasons. He then had stints at Middlesbrough and Aston Villa before moving to Queens Park Rangers in 2011. He played 379 career league matches, and all but one of them in the Premier League. Young represented the England national team on seven occasions in 2005. Early life Young was born in Harlow, Essex, and has an older brother, Neil Young, who was also a professional footballer and most notably played for AFC Bournemouth. During Neil's testimonial match, he captained the Bournemouth team and brother Luke captained the opponents Charlton Athletic. The final score was a 5–2 win for Charlton. Jorge Paulo Costa Almeida (born 14 October 1971) is a Portuguese retired footballer who played as a central defender, currently manager of Académico de Viseu. Nicknamed ''Bicho'' (animal) and ''Tanque'' (tank) by his colleagues and fans for his aggressive and physical playing style, he spent most of his professional career with Porto, being team captain for several seasons and winning a total of 24 major titles, notably eight Primeira Liga championships and the 2004 Champions League. Mark Anthony Fish (born 14 March 1974) is a retired South African footballer who played as a defender. Club career Born in Cape Town, Fish started his career in his native South Africa under the guidance of renowned coach Steve Coetsee, playing for Arcadia Shepherds, an amateur team based at the Caledonian Stadium in Pretoria. He was spotted by then Jomo Cosmos coach Roy Matthews and turned professional as a striker. It was at Cosmos that he was converted into a left back and went on to become one of the most promising defenders in South Africa at the time. In 1994 Fish was signed by Orlando Pirates after Cosmos were relegated. At Pirates he arguably played the best football of his career under the tutelage of Mike Makaab. The Valley is a 27,111 capacity sports stadium in Charlton, London, England and has been the home of Charlton Athletic Football Club since the 1920s, with a period of exile between 1985 and 1992. It is served by Charlton railway station, which is less than a five-minute walk away from the stadium. The 1999 Football League Cup Final was played between Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City, at Wembley on Sunday, 21 March 1999. Tottenham won the game, and their third League Cup, with an injury-time diving header from Allan Nielsen after a cross from the right from Steffen Iversen had been blocked by goalkeeper Kasey Keller. Justin Edinburgh became the last player to be sent off at the old Wembley, after angrily waving his arm towards Robbie Savage following a particularly tough Savage challenge. In the last few minutes of the game, Ramon Vega made a last-ditch sliding tackle to deny Emile Heskey a goal for Leicester, after Ian Walker rushed off his line, and Allan Nielsen scored a diving header. The 1998–99 Football League Cup (known as the Worthington Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 39th staging of the Football League Cup, a knockout competition for England's top 92 football clubs. The competition began on 11 August 1998, and ended with the final on 21 March 1999, held at Wembley Stadium.
