Whitesnake
Whitesnake are an English hard rock band formed in London in 1978. The group was originally put together as the backing band for singer David Coverdale, who had recently left Deep Purple. Though the band quickly developed into their own entity, Coverdale is the only constant member throughout their history. Whitesnake enjoyed much success in the UK, Europe and Japan through their early years. Their albums '' Ready an' Willing'', ''Come an' Get It'' and '' Saints & Sinners'' all reached the top ten on the UK Albums Chart. By the mid-1980s, however, Coverdale had set his sights on breaking through in North America, where Whitesnake remained largely unknown. With the backing of American label Geffen Records, Whitesnake released their eponymous album in 1987, which became their biggest success to date, selling over eight million copies in the US and spawning the hit singles " Here I Go Again" and " Is This Love". Whitesnake also adopted a more contemporary look, akin to the L ...

The Deeper The Love (Whitesnake Song)
"The Deeper the Love" is a power ballad by the English hard rock band Whitesnake, taken from their 1989 album '' Slip of the Tongue''. It was written by singer David Coverdale, along with guitarist Adrian Vandenberg. Overview Coverdale commented on the origins of the song in ''Slip of the Tongue'' 20th anniversary edition liner notes by saying:"The Deeper the Love" came from a chorus sequence I'd had for some time, written, if memory serves, in my dear friend Tony Z's house, many years ago... then my little Dutch brother, Adrian, came along and put the musical icing on the cake, and gave me the verse chord sequence. I finished writing it in Tahiti ..very early in the morning with the sun rising over the Pacific. "The Deeper the Love" was released as the album's second single in early 1990. It was a Top 40 chart success in the UK, the US, Canada and Ireland. It also reached number 4 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks charts in the US. The song was performed in its original form for ...

Whitesnake (album)
''Whitesnake'' is the seventh studio album by British rock band Whitesnake, released on 23 March 1987 by Geffen Records in the United States, and by EMI Records in the UK one week later. It was co-written and recorded for over a year in what would be the first and final collaboration between vocalist David Coverdale and guitarist John Sykes, as well as the final album to feature longtime bassist Neil Murray. The album, besides its commercial success, is remarkable for the band's change to a more modern glam metal look and sound, and the first recording to use the band's new logo which would characterise them in the future. Initially the album was released worldwide with different titles, tracklists and by different record labels. In Europe and Australia, it was titled ''1987'' and included two extra songs absent from the North American version, "Looking for Love" and "You're Gonna Break My Heart Again", while in Japan the album was released as ''Serpens Albus'' with the North ...

Restless Heart (Whitesnake Album)
''Restless Heart'' is the ninth studio album by English hard rock band Whitesnake, released by EMI on 26 March 1997 in Japan and 26 May in Europe. It was produced by the band's vocalist David Coverdale, and originally conceived as a solo album. However, Coverdale was pressured into releasing the record under the moniker "David Coverdale & Whitesnake" by EMI. Musically ''Restless Heart'' features a more subdued sound compared to Whitesnake's previous two albums. It is also the only full-length Whitesnake studio album to feature guitarist Adrian Vandenberg throughout, despite being a member of the group since 1987. The album received a mixed response from music critics, and only reached number 34 in the group's native UK. In total, ''Restless Heart'' charted in ten countries. With Whitesnake having been dropped by Geffen Records in 1994, ''Restless Heart'' did not receive a North American release, being available only as an import. The album's supporting tour was billed as Whites ...

Into The Light (David Coverdale Album)
''Into the Light'' is the third solo album by David Coverdale. It was released in September 2000. In between 1978 and 1997, Coverdale and his band Whitesnake produced nine studio albums. After a three-year break, he returned with what was officially his first solo album since 1978's '' Northwinds''. His 1997 album ''Restless Heart'' was recorded as a solo project, but for contractual reasons his label forced him to release it under the Whitesnake moniker. The new album "Into the Light" released in 2000 reached #75 on the UK album chart. Background In an interview with ''Classic Rock'' magazine in 2000, Coverdale stated: "The whole premise of my new record, ''Into The Light'', is about coming out of what I felt was a dark period... I didn't really know who I was, using the illusion of David Coverdale I've created, or that other people have. I got tired of trying to live up to that, which is not necessarily who I am." "Too Many Tears" was a new arrangement of the same song origina ...

Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. In the late 1960s, bands such as Blue Cheer, the Jeff Beck Group, Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin, Golden Earring, Steppenwolf and Deep Purple also produced hard rock. The genre developed into a major form of popular music in the 1970s, with the Who, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple being joined by Queen, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Kiss, and Van Halen. During the 1980s, some hard rock bands moved away from their hard rock roots and more towards pop rock.V. Bogdanov, C. Woodstra and S. T. Now You're Gone (Whitesnake Song)
"Now You're Gone" is a song by the English hard rock band Whitesnake from their 1989 album ''Slip of the Tongue''. It was written by singer David Coverdale and guitarist Adrian Vandenberg. The power ballad follows an alternately slow/fast-paced rhythm, and the lyrics tell about longing for the woman after a break-up. "Now You're Gone" was released as the third and final single from ''Slip of the Tongue'', remixed by Chris Lord-Alge. While it was a Top 40 chart success in the UK, it barely made it onto Billboard Hot 100 in the US. Music video A music video was shot in 1990 in the afternoon before and during a live show in Philadelphia to promote the single. The video was directed by Wayne Isham and features the band playing the song on stage, with footage of the fans interspersed with shots from the concert. In the booklet of the 20th anniversary edition of ''Slip of the Tongue'', David Coverdale commented: ''"I remember shooting the video with Wayne Isham in front of a sold out ...
