Lithuania In The Eurovision Song Contest 2015
Lithuania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "This Time" written by Vytautas Bikus and Monika Liubinaitė. The song was performed by Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Baumila. The Lithuanian broadcaster Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) organised the national final ''"Eurovizijos" dainų konkurso nacionalinė atranka'' (Eurovision Song Contest national selection) in order to select the Lithuanian entry for the 2015 contest in Vienna, Austria. The national final took place over eight weeks and involved 12 artists and 12 songs competing in two different competitive streams. The results of each show were determined by the combination of votes from a jury panel and a public vote, and "This Time" performed by Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Baumila eventually emerged as the winner following the final. Monika Linkytė
Monika Linkytė (born 3 June 1992) is a Lithuanian singer and songwriter. She represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 along with Vaidas Baumila with the song " This Time", placing 18th. She also represented Lithuania in the New Wave 2014 competition and was a finalist on season two of ''Lietuvos Balsas''. She will represent Lithuania again in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song "Stay". Linkytė has previously attempted to represent Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2007. LRT Lituanica
LRT Lituanica is the third Lithuanian public television channel, operated by LRT. The channel broadcasts 24 hours per day and is a mix of original programming from LRT televizija and LRT Plius. Launch and reach LRT Lituanica was launched as 'LTV World' at the end of September 2007. Sigutė Stonytė
Sigutė Stonytė (born 1955) is a Lithuanian soprano and professor at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Biography Ms. Sigutė Stonytė graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music in 1982 - here she studied singing with Prof. Z. Paulauskas. In 1982-1984 she also studied with vocal teacher Joana Kepenienė. In 1984 the soloist won the International Competition for Singers in Riga and a year later made her debut at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre as Tatyana in P. Tchaikovsky‘s opera “Eugene Onegin” - since then she has been performing leading soprano parts in most performances produced by the LNOBT and other companies. Linas And Simona
Linas and Simona was a duo, which represented Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004. With 26 points they placed 16th in the semifinal and could not participate in the final. However, they befriended Ruslana, the winner of the Eurovision 2004, and together recorded ''Fight for Love and Freedom''. This song was released in album ''I Love U'' on 22 July 2005. In 2005 they were representatives of an anti-AIDS campaign in Lithuania. The couple separated in late 2007 ending the duo. Jonas Gladnikoff
Jonas Gladnikoff (born 11 January 1985) is a Swedish songwriter and music producer. Born in Täby, he began songwriting at an early age. Later in life he moved to Åland in Finland before eventually moving to Stockholm. He has written several songs for singers from across Europe, but is best known for writing entries for the Eurovision Song Contest and for various national pre-selections. He studied songwriting at the Music Production Academy Musikmakarna, graduating in 2006. In 2009 he co-wrote the song that represented Ireland. Amir Aly (born 21 July 1976) is a Swedish songwriter and record producer. He has worked with some of the foremost artists in Sweden, including Jill Johnson, Elena Paparizou, Danny Saucedo, Robin Stjernberg, Sanna Nielsen and Shirley Clamp. Aly had a total of four songs in the Swedish semifinals to the Eurovision Song Contest (Melodifestivalen) in 2008 and 2009. Henrik Szabo
Henrik Szabo (born December 18, 1982 in Malmö, Sweden) is a Swedish leader of purpose driven organisations and a former songwriter. He is Secretary General of Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen since 2019 and member of the board of Kompis Sverige. Christina Schilling is a Danish songwriter, singer and musician. Amberlife
Amberlife (born Edgaras Lubys on 17 August 1983 in Klaipėda) is a popular Lithuanian musician and songwriter. He collaborated with the well-known Lithuanian production company Cactus which led to an international career. He released three albums and was known in Latvia, Russia and Scandinavia. A limited edition CD (3,000 copies), ''In Your Eyes'', was released in January 2004 with all of the songs from Amberlife's first album plus four versions of "In Your Eyes". Vilija Pilibaitytė (born 19 July 1983), better known by her stage name Mia, is a Lithuanian singer, songwriter and television host.
