List Of State Governors Of Nigeria
The following table presents a list of Nigeria's state governors. Governors are elected for a term of four years (maximum of two terms). A minister appointed by the president oversees affairs in the Federal Capital Territory. Eligibility Citizen of Nigeria by birth, at least 35 years of age, is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party are eligible for the office of Governor. The constitution limits state governors to only two four-year terms in office. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (born October 27, 1967) is a Nigerian politician and the current Governor of Adamawa State. He was a member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and was appointed the Speaker of the House. He became the acting Governor of Adamawa State following the impeachment of Admiral Murtala Nyako the former governor of the state, in July 2014, handing later to Bala James Ngilari after serving for three months. Anambra State is a Nigerian state, located in the southeastern region of the country. The state was created on August 27, 1991. 2023 Akwa Ibom State Gubernatorial Election
The 2023 Akwa Ibom State gubernatorial election will take place on 11 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, concurrent with elections to the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The 2015 Akwa Ibom State gubernatorial election occurred in Nigeria on April 11, 2015, the PDP nominee Udom Gabriel Emmanuel won the election, defeating Umana Umana of the APC. Akwa Ibom State is a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered on the east by Cross River State, on the west by Rivers State and Abia State, and on the south by the Atlantic Ocean.
