Institute For Language And Speech Processing
The Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP) ( el, Ινστιτούτο Επεξεργασίας του Λόγου, ΙΕΛ) is an Athens based, Greek non-profit private foundation focusing on applied research in various areas mainly related to language technology. In 1991 ILSP was established as a research institute; it operates under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation, Ministry of Development and Investment. ILSP is the oldest institute of Athena Research & Innovation Center in Information, Communication and Science Technologies. The institute also has a division in Xanthi. The goal of ILSP is to support the growth of Language Technology in Greece. The Academy of Athens ( el, Ακαδημία Αθηνών, ''Akadimía Athinón'') is Greece's national academy, and the highest research establishment in the country. It was established in 1926, with its founding principle traces back to the historical Academy of Plato, and operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. The Academy's main building is one of the major landmarks of Athens. History and structure The organization of the Academy of Athens, whose title hearkens back to the ancient Academy of Plato, was first established on 18 March 1926, and its charter was ratified by the law 4398/1929. This charter, with subsequent amendments, is still valid and governs the Academy's affairs. Centre For Technological Research Of Crete
The Centre for Technological Research of Crete (CTR-Crete) ( el, Κέντρο Τεχνολογικής Έρευνας (ΚΤΕ) Κρήτης) in Heraklion was founded according to the presidential decree No. 143/Φ.Ε.Κ. 123/20-6-2001 and is under the supervision and financing of the Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs (Greece). Animal Research Institute is a research institute in Greece. It is part of the National Agricultural Research Foundation. History The Animal Research Institute (ARI) was founded in 1952 as a unit of the Ministry of Agriculture and under the name ‘Animal Research Station’. The National Observatory of Athens (NOA; el, Εθνικό Αστεροσκοπείο Αθηνών) is a research institute in Athens, Greece. Founded in 1842, it is the oldest research foundation in Greece, as it was the first scientific research institute built after Greece became independent in 1829, and one of the oldest research institutes in Southern Europe.
