Bahawalpur () is a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan. With inhabitants as of 2017, it is Pakistan's 11th most populous city. Founded in 1748, Bahawalpur was the capital of the former princely state of Bahawalpur, ruled by the Abbasi family of ''Nawabs'' until 1955. The ''Nawabs'' left a rich architectural legacy, and Bahawalpur is now known for its monuments dating from that period. The city lies at the edge of the Cholistan Desert, and serves as the gateway to the nearby Lal Suhanra National Park. Murtaza Hassan
Murtaza Hassan (c. 1955 – 11 April 2011), also known by his stage name Mastana, was a Pakistani comedian and actor. Murtaza worked in many stage shows throughout a career which spanned more than three decades. Biography He worked in numerous stage shows such as Aashiqon Gham Na Karo, Chan Makhna, Bara Maza Aaye Ga, Larri Adda, Kotha, Rabba Ishq Na Hoye, Kaun Jeeta Kaun Haara etc. He appeared as "Uncle Q" in Drama Shabdaig. Death Murtaza Hassan died on 11 April 2011, at the Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur. He was believed to be 57 years old. He had a son, Hafiz M Saad Hassan. Chaudhry Muhammad Zaka Ashraf ( Punjabi, ur, محمد ذكا اشرف; born 9 September 1952) is a Pakistani executive who was the president of the Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL). He was appointed chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board on 15 October 2011 by the President of Pakistan and took the charge on 27 October 2011. However, on 10 February 2014, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif dissolved the PCB governing board and sacked him from the chairmanship of PCB. In August 2012, he was elected as chairman Development Committee of Asian Cricket Council. Shabbir Ahmad Usmani (11 October 188713 December 1949) was an Islamic scholar who supported the Pakistan Movement in the 1940s. He was a religious scholar, writer, orator, politician, and expert in Tafsir and Hadith. Born in 1887 in Bijnor, Usmani was an alumnus of Darul Uloom Deoband. He was the son of Fazlur Rahman Usmani. His brother Azizur Rahman Usmani was the first Grand Mufti of Darul Uloom Deoband. His nephews include Atiqur Rahman Usmani and Shams Naved Usmani. Usmani was the first to hoist the Flag of Pakistan at Karachi on 14 August 1947, and led the funeral prayers of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He died in 1949.
