Eli Ben-Menachem (; born 24 November 1947) is an Israeli former politician who served as a member of the Knesset for the Alignment, the Labor Party and One Israel between 1988 and 2006. Biography Born in Bombay, India (today Mumbai), Ben-Menachem emigrated to Israel in 1949. He studied at a military academy, and worked as an aircraft technician, eventually becoming chairman of the El Al workers' union. In 1988 he was elected to the Knesset on the Alignment list. After being re-elected in 1992 (this time on the Labor Party list), he was appointed Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Office on 4 August 1992. Dalia Itzik ( ''Dalya Itsik''; born 20 October 1952) is an Israeli former politician who last served as a member of the Knesset for Kadima. She has previously served in several ministerial positions, and on 4 May 2006 became the first female speaker of the Knesset, and served as President of Israel in an Interim and Acting President of Israel, interim capacity in July 2007. Mordechai "Motta" Gur (; May 6, 1930 – July 16, 1995) was an Israeli politician and the 10th Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces. During the Six-Day War (1967), he commanded the brigade that penetrated the Old City of Jerusalem and broadcast the famous words, "The Temple Mount is in our hands!" (, ''Har HaBayit B'Yadeinu''). Gedalia Gal (; born 14 February 1933) is an Israeli farmer and former politician who served as a member of the Knesset for the Alignment and Labor Party from 1988 until 1996. Biography Born in Magdiel during the Mandate era, Gal attended a professional high school and went on to work in agriculture, including emissary work for the Moshavim Movement. In 1988 he was elected to the Knesset on the Alignment list. In 1992 he was heavily involved in what became known as the "Gal law", which dealt with moshavim's debts. Rafael "Rafi" Elul (; born 23 September 1957) is an Israeli former politician who served as a member of the Knesset for the Labor Party between 1992 and 1996. Biography Born in Morocco, Elul made aliyah in 1961 at the age of four. He gained a BA in political science and sociology and an MA in business administration, both from Bar-Ilan University. Rafael Edri (; 10 September 1937 – 22 June 2024) was an Israeli buisnessman and politician who served as a Member of the Knesset for the Alignment and Labor Party from 1981 to 1999. Yael Dayan (; 12 February 1939 – 18 May 2024), also known as Yaël Dayan, was an Israeli politician and author.
