List Of Foreign Football Players In The Netherlands
This is a list of foreign players in the Eredivisie, which commenced play in 1956. The following players must meet both of the following two criteria: #Have played at least one Eredivisie game. Players who were signed by Eredivisie clubs, but only played in lower league, cup and/or European games, or did not play in any competitive games at all, are not included. #Are considered foreign, i.e., outside the Netherlands, determined by the following: ::''A player is considered foreign if he is not eligible to play for the national teams of the Netherlands.'' More specifically, *If a player has been capped on international level, the national team is used; if he has been capped by more than one country, the highest level (or the most recent) team is used. Eredivisie
The Eredivisie (; ''"Honour Division"'' or ''"Premier Division"'') is the highest level of professional football in the Netherlands. The league was founded in 1956, two years after the start of professional football in the Netherlands. It is considered one of the best European leagues. As of the 2020–21 season, it is ranked the sixth-best league in Europe by UEFA. The Eredivisie consists of 18 clubs. Each club meets every other club twice during the season, once at home and once away. Alles Door Oefening Den Haag (), commonly known by the abbreviated name ADO Den Haag (), is a Dutch association football club from the city of The Hague. They play in the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of Dutch football, following relegation from the Eredivisie in the 2020–21 season. The club was for a time known as FC Den Haag (), with ADO representing the amateur branch of the club. Karim Soltani ( ar, كريم سلطاني ; born 29 August 1984) is an Algerian footballer. He primarily plays as a winger, but can also play as a striker. Career Born in Brest, France, Soltani began his career at age 11 in a small club in the city. In 2000, at age 15, he joined the junior ranks of local club Stade Brest. Youssef Sofiane ( ar, يوسف سُفيان; born 8 July 1984, in Villefranche-sur-Saône) is a French footballer who played in England, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Algeria and Germany. RKC Waalwijk () is a Dutch professional football club based in Waalwijk, that is currently competing in the Eredivisie. Karim Bridji (born 16 August 1981) is an Algerian former professional footballer. He played as a midfielder.
