Association Football
Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposition by moving the ball beyond the goal line into a rectangular framed goal defended by the opposing side. Traditionally, the game has been played over two 45 minute halves, for a total match time of 90 minutes. With an estimated 250 million players active in over 200 countries, it is considered the world's most popular sport. Vratsa
Vratsa ( bg, Враца ) is the largest city in northwestern Bulgaria and the administrative and economic centre of the municipality of Vratsa and Vratsa district. It is located about 112 km north of Sofia, 40 km southeast of Montana. Situated at the foot of the Vrachanski Balkan, the town is near numerous caves, waterfalls and rock formations. The most famous of them are the Ledenika Cave, Skaklya Waterfall and the Vratsata Pass. The Vratsa History Museum holds the Rogozen treasure, which is the largest Thracian treasure. Botev Days are held annually in the city, culminating in the rally-dawn on June 1, held at Hristo Botev Square, as well as the national worship on June 2 at Mount Okolchitsa. Ivaylo Stadium
Stadion Ivaylo ( bg, Стадион „Ивайло“, en, 'Ivaylo Stadium' ) is a multi-purpose stadium in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Etar Veliko Tarnovo. The stadium holds 18,000 people and was built in 1958. The highest attendance ever at the venue was 40,000 on 18 September 1969 during a match between Etar and Levski Sofia. The match ended with a 0-2 defeat for Etar. In 1974, the stadium hosted a first round of the 1974–75 UEFA Cup between Etar and Inter Milan (0:0) with an attendance of 27,000. On 2 October 1991, on stadium Ivaylo, Etar secured a 1:1 draw with German champions Kaiserslautern in front of 15,000 people in the first round of the 1991-92 European Cup, the only time the stadium has hosted matches of the premier European international competition. PFC Neftochimic Burgas
Neftochimic ( bg, Нефтохимик) is a Bulgarian professional association football club based in Burgas, which currently competes in B RFG Burgas, the fifth tier of the Bulgarian football league system, after being disqualified for financial problems in 2021 from the Second League and reformed in 2022. The team plays its home games at the local Lazur Stadium, which it used to share with PSFC Chernomorets Burgas up until 2015. efbet Arena ( bg, „Ефбет Арена“, en, 'efbet Arena' ) is a multi-purpose stadium in Burgas, Bulgaria. It is currently used for football matches and is the home ground of Neftochimic 1962 Burgas. The stadium holds 18,037 people and carries a 3-star rating by UEFA. It was opened in 1967 and was renovated between 1990 and 1997. Officially opened after renovation at 13 April 1997 with the match Neftochimik - Levski Sofia 4:1. Until 2002 the stadium was named "Neftochimic" and later "Naftex". OFK Spartak ( bg, ОФК Спартак) is a Bulgarian municipal association football club from the city of Pleven founded on 10 September 1919. It currently competes in the Second League, the second tier of Bulgarian football. The team's greatest achievements are the Bulgarian Cup final in 1957 and the third place in the Bulgarian Championship during the following season. Spartak was once among the most prominent and consistent teams in the Bulgarian A Group. Between 1952 and 1988, Spartak only missed 5 seasons of top flight football.
