Lewisham () is an area of southeast London, England, south of Charing Cross. It is the principal area of the London Borough of Lewisham, and was within the Historic counties of England, historic county of Kent until 1889. It is identified in the London Plan as one of 35 major centres in Greater London, with a large shopping centre and street market. Lewisham was a small village until the development of passenger railways in the 19th century. Lewisham had a population of 60,573 in 2011. Catford is a district in south east London, England, and the administrative centre of the London Borough of Lewisham. Grove Park, Lewisham
Grove Park is a district of South East London, England within the London Borough of Lewisham. It is located north east of Bromley and south east of Lewisham. Known for its green spaces, Grove Park is flanked by the Grove Park Nature Reserve and Northbrook Park, and Downham Fields to the west, Horn Park to the East, as well as Chinbrook Meadows, Kings Meadow and Sundridge Park to the south. As well as these there are various sports grounds and fields. Endwell is a hamlet (and census-designated place) located in the town of Union in Broome County, New York, United States. Its population was 11,446 at the 2010 census. Endwell is situated between the villages of Endicott and Johnson City. It is west of Binghamton and is considered a suburb of that city. Endwell is also the home of a popular local park, Highland Park, well known in the area for its annual Fourth of July fireworks display as well as its classic carousel. Brockley is a district and an electoral ward of south London, England, in the London Borough of Lewisham south-east of Charing Cross. History The name Brockley is derived from "Broca's woodland clearing", a wood where badgers are seen (''broc'' is the Old English for badger) or Brook (Stream) by a wood (Ley). Formerly part of the county of Kent, Brockley became a part of the Metropolitan Borough of Lewisham in the County of London in 1889, and subsequently was brought into the London Borough of Lewisham with the creation of Greater London in 1965. Brockley has its origins in a small agricultural hamlet of the same name located in the area of the " Brockley Jack" (rebuilt 1895), a large Victorian public house that today houses the Brockley Jack Theatre. Blackheath is an area in Southeast London, straddling the border of the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the London Borough of Lewisham. It is located northeast of Lewisham, south of Greenwich, London, Greenwich and southeast of Charing Cross, the traditional centre of London.
