List Of Demonstration Schools In Thailand
In Thailand, many universities operate demonstration schools, also known as laboratory schools ( th, โรงเรียนสาธิต, ''sathit'' or ''satit'' schools) as part of their teacher-training programmes. These schools provide student teachers with practice-teaching opportunities, and are also used by the universities for education research and development. The oldest dedicated teacher-training schools in Thailand are the Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit Demonstration School, Prasarnmit and Patumwan Demonstration School, Srinakharinwirot University, Patumwan Demonstration Schools of Srinakharinwirot University, which opened in 1953 and 1954, respectively. Many more schools have since been created or re-purposed, and there are now sixty-four demonstration schools in the country. Silpakorn University (SU.) ( th, มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร; ) is a national university in Thailand. The university was founded in Bangkok in 1943 by Tuscan–born art professor Corrado Feroci, who took the Thai name Silpa Bhirasri when he became a Thai citizen. It began as a fine arts university and now includes many other faculties as well. In 2016, it has 25,210 students. History Silpakorn University was originally established as the School of Fine Arts under Thailand's Fine Arts Department in 1933.
