Daytime Emmy Awards
The Daytime Emmy Awards, or Daytime Emmys, are part of the extensive range of Emmy Awards for artistic and technical merit for the American television industry. Bestowed by the New York–based National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), the Daytime Emmys are presented in recognition of excellence in American daytime television programming. The first ceremony was held in 1974, expanding what was originally a prime time-themed Emmy Award. Ceremonies generally are held in May or June. Carole Hart
Carole Ruth Hart (April 30, 1943 – January 5, 2018) was an American writer and television producer who was involved in the inception of ''Sesame Street'' and other projects on broadcast television targeted at children. Biography Born Carole Ruth Strickler in Paterson, New Jersey on April 30, 1943, she graduated from Barnard College in 1965, where she majored in philosophy. She married Bruce Hart in 1963, while she was a student in college. She and her husband were at a party where they spoke with a producer who had an idea for a new television program designed to help children develop reading and writing skills. Hart and her husband were hired to develop material for what became ''Sesame Street''. Her husband wrote the theme song, while she wrote some early episodes. Hart produced '' Free to Be... Ozzie Alfonso
Ozzie Alfonso (born August 14, 1945) was the director and one of three Senior Producers of '' 3-2-1 Contact'' from season 2 to 8 when the series stopped production. He was also one of the writers for the series from season 3 through 8. Following production of the daily series, Alfonso was the director of all the ''3-2-1 Contact Specials'', and ''3-2-1 Classroom''. His work at ''3-2-1 Contact'' garnered two Emmy Awards – for cinematography (contributing cinematographer), and for outstanding directing. Robert James Banner Jr. (August 15, 1921 – June 15, 2011) was an American producer, writer and director. From 1967 to 1972 he co-produced ''The Carol Burnett Show''. Life and career Banner was a native of Ennis, Texas, and credited his hometown with providing him the opportunity to prepare for his career. In high school he accompanied every singer in town, played in the high school band and was part-time organist in the Presbyterian Church. He credited band director Thomas Granger as the mentor who gave the biggest push to send him on his way. While a junior in high school he assisted Granger in writing and arranging the school Alma Mater, "Maroon and White", that has lasted since 1937. He attended Southern Methodist University where he arranged for the Mustang Band and the Pigskin Revue, directed Script and Score, and organized his dance band that toured with Interstate Theaters Production of ''College Capers'', where he met his wife, Alice. A Special Sesame Street Christmas
''A Special Sesame Street Christmas'' is a 1978 CBS Christmas special, made the same year as the better-known '' Christmas Eve on Sesame Street''. The special was first broadcast on Friday, December 8, 1978, at 8 PM ET on CBS, pre-empting ''Wonder Woman'' that week, starring Leslie Uggams. The special features only three of the ''Sesame Street'' Muppets: Oscar the Grouch, Big Bird, and Barkley the dog. Barkley is played by gymnast Toby Towson. The puppet used for the special was different from the one used for the series, making him five feet tall, or higher, at times in the special. Mr. Hooper, David, Bob, and Maria are the only humans from the regular cast to make appearances, while most of the regulars are replaced by a large, somewhat all-star cast.
