Bill Grinus
William Grinus (February 25, 1911 – March 28, 1983) was a college football player. Brendon De Jonge
Brendon de Jonge (born 18 July 1980) is a professional golfer from Zimbabwe. He currently plays on the PGA Tour. He played collegiate golf at Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech career De Jonge was a two-time All-America selection by the Golf Coaches of America Association (2002, 2003). He was also Virginia collegiate player of the year for those two seasons. He was elected to the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 2014. Professional career De Jonge played on the Nationwide Tour from 2004 to 2006 and 2008. He earned his 2007 PGA Tour card at Q-school. He finished 155th on the money list in 2007, losing his tour card. In 2008 he finished second on the Nationwide Tour money list and earned his 2009 PGA Tour card. Brandon Lavar Flowers (born February 18, 1986) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at Virginia Tech, and was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. High school career Flowers played high school football while attending Atlantic Community High School, where he earned first-team all-area and all-conference honors. William Brandon Glover
William Brandon Glover (April 22, 1938) was Virginia Tech's first All-American wrestler. He won all 26 of his dual meet matches during his four-year wrestling career. 17 of these wins came on falls. Glover earned All-America honors in his sophomore year of 1959 when he was invited to participate in the NCAA championship in the 130 pound class. He lost his only career match in the semi-finals of the event, but came back to score a victory in the third-place match. John Braddock Clontz (born April 25, 1971) is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) relief pitcher who played for the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, and Pittsburgh Pirates between and . Amateur career Clontz was born in Stuart, Virginia. He played college baseball at Virginia Tech and his contributions there earned him a spot in the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame. Robert Lynn Schweickert (born September 17, 1942) is a former American football quarterback. Schweickert led Virginia Tech's football team to its only Southern Conference championship in 1963, and was a first-team All-America for the Hokies in 1964. (At the time Virginia Tech was primarily referred to as the VPI Gobblers). He was two-time Southern Conference Media player of the year. Bimbo Coles
Vernell Eufaye "Bimbo" Coles (born April 22, 1968) is an American retired professional basketball player. He received his nickname from a cousin in reference to a country music song of the same name. Coles was a standout at Greenbrier East High School in Lewisburg, West Virginia. At Greenbrier East, Coles played basketball, baseball and football. Coles was more heavily recruited to play college football than basketball before announcing his intent to play basketball in college. In football, he was twice named all-state and once named All-America. As a shortstop and outfielder, Coles claimed to be selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1986 Major League Baseball draft.
