Altaf Gauhar
Altaf Gauhar (17 March 1923 – 14 November 2000) was a civil servant, journalist, poet, and writer from Pakistan, close to the country’s first military dictator Ayub Khan to the point his detractors called him Khan’s Svengali and Goebbels. Early life He was born in Gujranwala on 17 March 1923 into a Rajput- Janjua family and did his post graduation in English literature from the Government College University, Lahore. Civil service career Gauhar entered the Civil Service of Pakistan in 1948. Starting his career as Secretary, State Bank of Pakistan, he rose to be Information Secretary Government of Pakistan at the age of 39. During his tenure, draconian laws governing the press were passed, something for which Gauhar later publicly apologised. He was a gifted writer and became very close to President Ayub Khan, so much so that he was known as the de facto vice president of Pakistan. Ather Shah Khan Jaidi
Athar Shah Khan (Urdu:اطہر شاہ خان; January 1, 1943 – May 10, 2020) was a Pakistani comedian, poet and writer. He performed in many of his plays, dramas, and films scripted for Radio Pakistan, Pakistan Television, and Lollywood. He is more popularly known by his own-created character ''Jaidi'' (). He is the recipient of the Pride of Performance Award (2001). Early life and education Born on 1st January 1943 in the Indian city of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, Athar Shah Khan arrived in Karachi in 1947. Later, he settled in Lahore. Ayub Sabir
Muhammad Ayub Sabir ( ur, ) is a Pakistani writer. He has received Sitara e Imtiaz, Iqbal award and Pride of Performance award from Government of Pakistan for his literary works. Personal life Sabir was born in Haripur, Pakistan. He has lived in Abbottabad and currently is living in Islamabad. He received his Master of Arts degree in Urdu language from Peshawar University, Peshawar, Pakistan. Attash Durrani ( ur, ; 22 January 1952 – 30 November 2018) was a Pakistani linguist, researcher, critic, author, educationist, and gemologist. He wrote more than 275 books and approximately 500 papers in Urdu and English. His main disciplines of study were language, education, computer science, and information technology. He was the recipient of the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz and Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his work of Urdu language and literature. Early life Durrani was born in Montgomery (now Sahiwal), Punjab. Arshad Sharif ( ur, ; 22 February 1973 – 23 October 2022) was a Pakistani journalist, writer, and television news anchor. He specialised in investigative journalism and covered many political events in the country for national and international news organisations, including the United Kingdom. Presently, he is serving as the Director General at University of Gujrat's Sialkot Campus.He has been associated with Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, and Government College University, Faisalabad as a teacher, researcher, and departmental head (Urdu) for over 35 years. Anwar Maqsood Hameedi (born 7 September 1939, Urdu:), popularly known as Anwar Maqsood, is a Pakistani scriptwriter, television presenter, satirist, humorist, and infrequent actor.
