Maharashtra
Maharashtra (; , abbr. MH or Maha) is a state in the western peninsular region of India occupying a substantial portion of the Deccan Plateau. Maharashtra is the second-most populous state in India and the second-most populous country subdivision globally. It was formed on 1 May 1960 by splitting the bilingual Bombay State, which had existed since 1956, into majority Marathi-speaking Maharashtra and Gujarati-speaking Gujarat. Maharashtra is home to the Marathi people, the predominant ethno-linguistic group, who speak the Marathi language, the official language of the state. Archana Joglekar is an Indian actress and classical dancer. She has acted in Marathi, Odia and Hindi films and television serials. Some of her noted films are ''Sansaar'' (Hindi), ''Eka Peksha Ek'' (Marathi) and ''Anapekshit'' (Marathi). She is a Kathak dancer and choreographer. She was trained in Kathak by her mother, Asha Joglekar, a Kathak danseuse and instructor. In 1963, her mother founded a dance school in Mumbai called ''Archana Nrityalaya''. Siddharth Ray
Siddharth Ray (19 July 1963– 8 March 2004), born Sushant Ray, was a film actor in Hindi and Marathi films. He also appeared in a few south Indian films. He was the grandson of filmmaker V. Shantaram. Personal life Siddharth Ray was born into a film family. He was the grandson of V. Shantaram. His mother, Charusheela Ray, was the daughter of V. Shantaram by his first wife Vimla Shantaram. His father was Dr. Subrato Ray, a Bengali economist, who had a Ph.D. from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. ''Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi'' () is a 1988 Indian Marathi-language comedy-drama film directed by Sachin Pilgaonkar and produced by Kiran Shantaram. The film stars Ashok Saraf, Laxmikant Berde, Sachin Pilgaonkar and Siddharth Ray opposite Ashwini Bhave, Priya Arun, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Nivedita Joshi along with Nayantara, Viju Khote, Sudhir Joshi and Jairam Kulkarni in supporting roles. Sadashiv Dattaray Amrapurkar (11 May 1950 – 3 November 2014) was an Indian actor, best known for his performances in Marathi and Hindi films from 1983 to 1999. He acted in more than 300 movies in Hindi, Marathi, and other regional languages. He also played first class cricket in Ranji trophy.
