Hrvatski nogometni klub Rijeka ( en, Croatian Football Club Rijeka), commonly referred to as NK Rijeka or simply Rijeka, is a Croatian professional football club from the city of Rijeka. HNK Rijeka compete in Croatia's top division, HT Prva liga, of which they have been members since its foundation in 1992. During the reconstruction of Stadion Kantrida, their traditional home ground has been Stadion Rujevica. Rijeka's traditional home colours are all white. The club was founded in 1904, with the football team being active at last since 1906, and following the tumultuous political changes that swept the border city of Rijeka in the following decades, it changed its name to U.S. Fiumana in 1926, to S.C.F. 1951 Yugoslav Second League
The 1951 Yugoslav Second League season was the 5th season of the Second Federal League ( hbs, Druga savezna liga), the second level association football competition of SFR Yugoslavia, since its establishment in 1946. Teams A total of sixteen teams contested the league, including six sides from the 1950 season, one club relegated from the 1950 Yugoslav First League and nine sides promoted from the third tier leagues played in the 1950 season. The league was contested in a double round robin format, with each club playing every other club twice, for a total of 30 rounds. Two points were awarded for a win and one point for draws. Budućnost were relegated from the 1950 Yugoslav First League after finishing in the 10th place of the league table, while 9th placed Spartak Subotica were allowed to stay in the top level after Naša Krila Zemun were dissolved. Bruno Veselica (24 January 1936 – 20 November 2018) was a Croatia-born Yugoslav footballer. Career As a player, he was regarded as one of HNK Rijeka's best forwards of all time. He is the club's second highest top scorer of all time after Boško Bursać. He was the club's top scorer for five seasons. After more than ten years spent with Rijeka, he continued his career with Olimpija Ljubljana.
