Hans Albers
Hans Philipp August Albers (22 September 1891 – 24 July 1960) was a German actor and singer. He was the biggest male movie star in Germany between 1930 and 1960 and one of the most popular German actors of the twentieth century. Early life Hans Albers was born in Hamburg, the son of a butcher, and grew up in the district of St. Georg. He was seriously interested in acting by his late teens and took acting classes without the knowledge of his parents. In 1915 Albers was drafted to serve in the German Army in World War I, but was wounded early on. After his release from the Hospital in Wiesbaden where he had been treated, he performed in the local Residenztheater in comedies, antics and operettas. After the war Albers moved to Berlin, where he found work as a comedic actor in various Weimar-Era Berlin theatres. Christian-Jaque (byname of Christian Maudet; 4 September 1904 – 8 July 1994) was a French filmmaker. From 1954 to 1959, he was married to actress Martine Carol, who starred in several of his films, including ''Lucrèce Borgia'' (1953), ''Madame du Barry'' (1954), and ''Nana'' (1955). Christian-Jaque's 1946 film ''A Lover's Return'' was entered into the 1946 Cannes Film Festival. He won the Best Director award at the 1952 Cannes Film Festival for his popular swashbuckler ''Fanfan la Tulipe''. At the 2nd Berlin International Film Festival, he won the Silver Bear award for the same film. In 1959, he was a member of the jury at the 1st Moscow International Film Festival. Gérard Calvi
Gérard Calvi (born Grégoire Krettly; 26 July 1922 – 20 February 2015) was a French composer. Interested in music from an early age, Calvi's first composing work was for the French production ''The Patron'' in 1949. From here he provided music for various French films, most notably ''Gangster Boss'', as well as the show ''La Plume de Ma Tante'', which was nominated for Best Musical at the 13th Tony Awards. He composed music for three Asterix films: ''Asterix the Gaul'', ''Asterix and Cleopatra'' and '' The Twelve Tasks of Asterix''. He also composed the memorable Asterix theme for the first film, which was dispensed with by the time the music for ''The Twelve Tasks of Asterix'' was composed in 1976.
