List Of Cotton Bowl Classic Broadcasters
The following is a list of the television networks and announcers who have broadcast college football's Cotton Bowl Classic throughout the years. Television Notes * During the 1980 game, CBS announcer Lindsey Nelson was stricken with laryngitis and had to leave the telecast after the first quarter. Sideline reporter Frank Glieber took over the play-by-play for the remainder of the game. Spanish In 2013, Fox Deportes provided the first Spanish U.S. telecast of the Cotton Bowl Classic. Fox Deportes returned for the game in 2014. In 2015, ESPN Deportes becomes the Spanish-language home of the Cotton Bowl Classic. Radio National Radio In 2013 and 2014, the game will be broadcast by ESPN Radio and ESPN Deportes Radio. Brad Sham, who called the game for Westwood One in 1996, and from 1998 to 2012, will continue as play-by-play announcer for ESPN Radio. 2013 marks the first Spanish radio broadcast of the game. Brock Huard
Brock Anthony Huard (born April 15, 1976) is a former American football quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). His older brother Damon also played quarterback at the University of Washington and had a career in the NFL, while his younger brother Luke played at North Carolina and pursued a coaching High school Huard graduated from Puyallup High School in Puyallup, Washington, where his father Mike was head coach. A left-hander, he enjoyed a prodigious prep career and was the Gatorade National Player of the Year, All-State and Class AAA State Player-of-the-Year in his senior season of 1994. Huard was named a High School All-American by Parade Magazine, Super Prep, Blue Chip Illustrated, ESPN, and Schutt. Tim Brewster
Tim Brewster (born October 13, 1960) is an American football coach and former player who is currently the tight ends coach for the University of Colorado. He also served as the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator for the North Carolina Tar Heels football program. He was the head coach of the University of Minnesota from 2007 until he was fired midway through the Golden Gophers' 2010 season. In 2011, Brewster was a sideline analyst for Fox College Football and the NFL on Fox with Gus Johnson and Charles Davis. Petros Papadakis (born June 16, 1977) is an American sportscaster who serves as a college football analyst for Fox Sports and co-host of the '' Petros and Money Show'' on AM 570 LA Sports. He is a former tailback and team captain for the University of Southern California Trojans football team. He is the self-proclaimed "captain of the worst team in USC history." Augustus Cornelius Johnson Jr. (born ) is an American sportscaster. He is the lead play-by-play announcer for Fox Sports calling college football and college basketball. Prior to working with Fox, he was with CBS Sports. Early life and education Johnson was born in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated in 1985 from the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy. He was an all-league quarterback and co-captain of the school's football team, an all-league shooting guard, co-captain and MVP of the basketball team and a first baseman and catcher on the baseball team. Tom Luginbill (born January 3, 1974) is a college football analyst for ESPN. Luginbill grew up in Tempe, Arizona and San Diego. He is the son of the professional and college coach Al Luginbill. Playing career Luginbill was the starting quarterback for three colleges over his four-year career. He had varying degrees of success ranging from a national championship to a one-win season. He played football for Palomar College (Juco) from 1992–1993, where he amassed 21 wins. In 1993, he led Palomar to the National Junior College championship and a perfect 11–0 record, and was named a first-team All-American by the Junior College Athletic Bureau. Brian Griese
Brian David Griese ( ; born March 18, 1975) is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the quarterbacks coach for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 1998 NFL Draft. He played high school football at Christopher Columbus High School and later college football at Michigan. Griese played three seasons at Michigan, leading the Wolverines to the 1997 National Championship (as recognized by the Associated Press). After being selected in the third round by the Denver Broncos in the 1998 NFL Draft, he earned a Super Bowl ring with the Broncos in his rookie season, as a backup to John Elway in Super Bowl XXXIII.
