Edwardstown, South Australia
Edwardstown is an inner southern-western suburb located 6 km southwest of Adelaide in the City of Marion. In 1989 the suburb of Edwardstown was split, with the portion east of South Road becoming Melrose Park. This occurred as the suburb was quite large, located on either side of South Road and was in the jurisdiction of two local government councils, with the larger western side belonging to the City of Marion. Edwardstown is in the South Australian House of Assembly districts of Badcoe and Elder, and the Australian House of Representatives Division of Boothby. Edwardstown is home to the Castle Plaza Shopping Centre. Edwardstown is served by the Woodlands Park and Edwardstown railway stations. Glengowrie () is a suburb of the Australian city of Adelaide, approximately 12 kilometres south west of the city centre. The name Glengowrie means "Glen of Gowrie", so called in honour of Lord Gowrie (formerly, Alexander Gore Arkwright Hore-Ruthven), Governor-General of Australia from 1936 to 1944. Location Located in the City of Marion, Glengowrie is bounded by the Glenelg tram line to the north, Morphett Road to the east, Oaklands Road to the south and parts of Diagonal Road, Panton Crescent and Buttrose Street to the west. Bowden () is an inner northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the City of Charles Sturt. History The 'Village of Bowden' was established in 1839 by James Hurtle Fisher, who named it after his native village in Northamptonshire. Bowden had a post office open from 1970 until 1991. Before 1970 the office in the area was named ''Ovingham''; after 1991 the ''Brompton'' office has provided postal services. In October 2008, Premier Mike Rann and Infrastructure Minister Patrick Conlon announced the purchase of the 10-hectare Clipsal factory site in Bowden to become a new "green village". __NOTOC__ Tennyson is a suburb in the Australian state of South Australia located in the Adelaide metropolitan area about north-west of the Adelaide city centre and about west of the municipal seat of Woodville. Tennyson consists of a strip of land on the east coast of Gulf St Vincent extending from a beach with a frontage of sand dunes in the west for a distance of about to the west side of the artificial lake known as West Lakes in the east. It borders West Lakes for the full length of the part of the lake where a rowing course is located. Its northern boundary is located just north of Estcourt Road while it is bounded in the south by Fort Street. Tennyson's boundaries were created on 30 September 1976 for land which includes the Town of Tennyson at its southern end. Glenalta is a suburb located in the south eastern Foothills of the Mount Lofty Ranges of Adelaide, South Australia. It is adjacent to Belair National Park. In 2009, demographer Bernard Salt of the Sunday Mail judged Glenalta to be Adelaide's most liveable suburb, citing its "affordability, access and ambience". Plympton is an inner south-western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. The name is believed to have been given by Henry Mooringe Boswarva to a private subdivision in the area, naming after his home town in Devon, England. It was accepted as an official name for the suburb in 1944. Of irregular shape, the suburb straddles parts of Marion Road, Cross Road and Anzac Highway.
