Lino Enea Spilimbergo
Lino Enea Spilimbergo (born Lino Claro Honorio Enea Spilimbergo; 12 August 1896 – 16 March 1964) was an Argentine artist and engraver considered to be one of the country's most important painters. Biography Lino Enea Spilimbergo was born in Buenos Aires in 1896, the son of Italian immigrants, Antonio Enea Spilimbergo and María Giacoboni, and his full name was Lino Claro Honorio Enea Spilimbergo. His early years were spent in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo. Whilst visiting his mother's relatives in northern Italy with his family he contracted pneumonia, which in later years caused him to suffer from asthma. Returning to Buenos Aires in 1902 he started his schooling, which ended in 1910, when he began working for the post office to support himself. Carlos Alonso
Carlos Alonso (born 4 February 1929) is an Argentine contemporary painter, draftsman and printmaker. Though he was a Social realist in his early career, he is best known as a New realist. Beef is a common element in his work. Early years Alonso was born in Tunuyán and lived there until he was seven. His family then moved to Mendoza. At 14, he joined the Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes, studying drawing and engraving with Sergio Sergi, sculpture with Lorenzo Dominguez, and painting with Francisco Bernareggi and Ramón Gomez Cornet. Later, at the National University of Cuyo, he trained under Lino Enea Spilimbergo. Career Alonso received his first award in 1947. In 1951, he won first prize at the Salon of Painting in San Rafael, the North Hall in Santiago del Estero, and drawing at the Salon del Norte Tucumán. Leopoldo Presas
Leopoldo Presas (1915-2009) was an Argentine artist. He experienced different styles throughout his life. He had academic training and started as a figurative painter though he later turned into expressionism as well. He tried several mediums as oil, tempera, charcoal and pencil on different supports including canvas, paper, paperboard and newspaper. The themes of his works have been very extensive. The female figure was his main attraction, but he also did still lifes, landscapes, harbors, erotic paintings and some expressionist and controversial series as “The Pigs”, “The Kings of Putrefaction” and “The Christs”. Eolo Pons
Eolo Pons (1914–2009) was an Argentine painter. Eolo Pons was born in Buenos Aires. He studied from 1935-38 in the studio of the influential Argentine painter and teacher Lino Enea Spilimbergo; among Pons' fellow students were his close friends figurative painters Leopoldo Presas (b. 1915) and Luis Lusnich (1911–1995). Subsequently, Eolo Pons worked in the printmaking studio of Surrealist graphic artists Jose Planas Casas (1900–1960), Juan Batlle Planas (1911–1966) and Pompeyo Audivert (1900–1977). Galerías Pacífico is a shopping centre in Buenos Aires, Argentina, located at the intersection of Florida Street and Córdoba Avenue. Overview The Beaux Arts building was designed by the architects Emilio Agrelo and Roland Le Vacher in 1889 to accommodate a shop called the ''Argentine Bon Marché'', modelled on the Le Bon Marché in Paris. In 1896 part of the building was transformed into the first home for the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and in 1908 the British-owned Buenos Aires and Pacific railway company acquired part of the building for offices.
