"Lick" is a song by Jamaican dancehall singer Shenseea featuring American rapper Megan Thee Stallion. It was released on January 21, 2022, as the lead single on Shenseea's first studio album, ''Alpha''. Background and release Shenseea signed with Rich Immigrants and Interscope Records in 2019 and released "Blessed", her debut single later that year. She initially gained attention after appearing on songs by Vybz Kartel, Sean Paul, and Christina Aguilera. Denise "Saucy Wow" Belfon (born 23 November 1968, in Trinidad) is a soca and contemporary R&B songwriter and dancer. Early years As a young girl in school, she was a football (soccer) player and was offered a scholarship to Howard University to join the all-girls team. In sound and music, sampling is the reuse of a portion (or sample) of a sound recording in another recording. Samples may comprise elements such as rhythm, melody, speech, sounds or entire bars of music, and may be layered, equalized, sped up or slowed down, repitched, looped, or otherwise manipulated. They are usually integrated using hardware ( samplers) or software such as digital audio workstations.
