Lee–Lin Rivalry
The Lee–Lin rivalry was a rivalry between two professional badminton players, Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan. It is considered among the greatest rivalries in badminton history. Of their 40 meetings, Lin won the head to head battle by 28–12. They met in the final 22 times, semi-finals 15 times, including twice in the final of the Olympic Games and World Championships, which Lin took all the victories. Lin was also better in their 11 meetings in Super Series finals (including Super Series Premier) tournaments, which Lin took 9 of them. Each athlete has their own successes. Lee won 47 Super Series titles between 2007–2017 and ranked first worldwide for 349 weeks, which included a 199-week streak from 21 August 2008 to 14 June 2012. Gillian Margaret Clark (born 2 September 1961) is an English badminton commentator and former badminton player who specialized in doubles. Badminton career World Championships Clark won two bronze medals at the World Championships a decade apart; for women's doubles in 1983, and for mixed doubles in 1993. Olympic Games Clark competed in badminton at the 1992 Summer Olympics in women's doubles with Julie Bradbury. Lee Dong-keun (badminton)
Lee Dong-keun (Hangul: 이동근; or ; born 20 November 1990) is a Korean badminton player specializing in men's singles. He won his first international senior title at the 2011 Vietnam International tournament. Lee participated at the 2012 World University Championships in Gwangju, South Korea, won a gold medal in the mixed team and a bronze in the singles events. He was also part of the South Korean winning team at the 2014 Asian Games. In 2016, Lee represented his country competing at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The 2015 Sudirman Cup was the fourteenth tournament of the Sudirman Cup. It was held in Dongguan, China. Host city selection Dongguan is the only city to submit a bid for 2015 Sudirman Cup. Badminton World Federation awarded the event to Dongguan during BWF Council Meeting in Athens, Greece. Seedings The seedings for teams competing in the tournament were released on March 5, 2015. Fu Haifeng (born 23 August 1983) is a Chinese former badminton player. He is regarded as one of the greatest men's doubles players of all time. All England Open Badminton Championships
The All England Open Badminton Championships is the world's oldest badminton tournament, held annually in England. With the introduction of the BWF's latest grading system, it was given Super Series status in 2007, upgraded to Super Series Premier status in 2011. The world's first open tournament was held in the English town of Guildford in 1898, the success of which paved the way for the All England's inaugural edition, which was held at London's Horticultural Halls in 1899. Although the inaugural edition consisted of just the doubles format, the singles were introduced from the second edition onward. Badminton Asia Championships
The Badminton Asia Championships (formerly Asian Badminton Championships until 2006) is a tournament organized by governing body Badminton Asia to crown the best badminton players in Asia. The tournament started in 1962 and is held annually since 1991. The event had rotated between team and individual competitions before the team event became null since 1994. At the 2003 event however, there is a controversy when China decided to pull out from the tournament at the last minute. Head coach Li Yongbo said that the tournament did not award any ranking points for the 2004 Summer Olympics event and wanted to give his players more time to rest.
