Launceston Cricket Club
Launceston Cricket Club (LCC) is a cricket team which represents the city of Launceston, Tasmania, Launceston in the Northern Tasmanian Cricket Association grade cricket competition. The club was founded in 1841, making it the second-oldest cricket club in Tasmania and in Australia. LCC beat Derwent Cricket Club by 12 runs in the first-ever "north v south" match in 1850, and on 11 February and 12 February 1851, they played against Melbourne Cricket Club in Launceston, Tasmania, Launceston, in what is now recorded as the First first-class cricket match in Australia, first ever first-class cricket match in Australia. It is a multi-use sports venue situated in Launceston, Tasmania, Launceston, Australia. Bruce Doolan
Bruce Richard Doolan (born 9 September 1947) is a former Australian cricketer who played first-class cricket for Tasmania from 1972 to 1978. Doolan was a left-handed batsman and wicket-keeper. Xavier John Doherty (born 22 November 1982) is a former Australian international cricketer who played Australian domestic cricket with Tasmania cricket team, Tasmania and internationally for Australia national cricket team, Australia. Riverside Cricket Club
Riverside Cricket Club (RCC) is a cricket team formed in 1948 as a club in the western side of the Tamar Valley near Launceston. The club plays in the Northern Tasmanian Cricket Association grade cricket competition, in the Australian state of Tasmania. The club is based in the West Tamar Council's Windsor Park precinct and has access to three cricket grounds, two of these are used as junior grounds and are concrete with a synthetic covering and the third is a turf wicket that is used by the senior club and at times representative teams including the Greater Northern Raiders. Teams and Honours The Riverside Cricket Club has junior teams in the Northern Tasmanian Cricket league as well as 4 senior men's grade teams and 1 ladies' team. Mowbray Cricket Club
Mowbray Cricket Club (MCC), also known as ''Mowbray Eagles'', is a cricket team which represents the northern suburbs of Launceston in the Northern Tasmanian Cricket Association grade cricket competition, in the Australian state of Tasmania. There is evidence of a cricket club in the Mowbray district as early as 1922. The current Mowbray cricket club was established in 1955 and has a history of nurturing outstanding Tasmanian talent including Australian representatives, Ricky Ponting and Greg Campbell, as well as Tasmanian Tigers representatives dating back to the 1950s. South Launceston Cricket Club
The South Launceston Cricket Club (SLCC), is a cricket team which represents South Launceston in the Cricket North grade cricket competition, in the Australian state of Tasmania. The South Launceston Cricket Club was formed in 1907 when the Northern Tasmanian Cricket Association made changes to the district cricket competition. The city was divided into zones and players had to represent the club whose zone they lived in. This was an Australia-wide movement aimed at creating a more even grade cricket competition and generate suburban loyalty and rivalry. South Launceston joined North, East, West and Central Launceston in the new NTCA district competition for the 1907-08 season. South has won a total of 15 premierships. David Boon
David Clarence Boon (born 29 December 1960) is an Australian cricket match referee, former cricket commentator and Australian cricket team, international cricketer whose international playing career spanned the years 1984–1996. A right-handed batsman and a very occasional off-spin Bowler (cricket), bowler, he played first-class cricket for both his home state Tasmania Tigers, Tasmania and English county cricket, county side Durham. Boon was a part of the Australian team that won their first world title during the 1987 Cricket World Cup. The Sheffield Shield is the domestic first-class cricket competition of Australia. The tournament is contested between teams representing the six states of Australia.
