Landscape Artist Of The Year Canada
''Landscape Artist of the Year Canada'' is a Canadian reality competition series, which premiered in 2020 on Makeful and CBC Gem. An adaptation of the British series '' Landscape Artist of the Year'', the series featured Canadian artists, both amateur and professional, competing to produce the best landscape paintings of scenes in Canadian nature. The series is hosted by Sook-Yin Lee, with artist Joanne Tod and curator Marc Mayer as judges, and art historian Ian Dejardin as a commentator on the history of landscape art in Canada. The winner of the series receives a $10,000 cash prize, and has their work displayed at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection gallery in Kleinburg, Ontario. The series entered production in 2019. Makeful
Makeful (formerly known as BiteTV) is a Canadian pay television channel owned by Blue Ant Media. It has transmittered from 299 Queen Street West since at least 2012. The channel was first launched on March 5, 2005, as BiteTV, and primarily aired short form programming in the genre of reality, and offered a multi-panel visual format called the "PC Chat 2 Screen". Later, reality programming was dropped, and started showcasing more comedy programming (such as ''It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'', ''Jimmy Kimmel Live!'', and '' Warren United''). Kleinburg is an unincorporated village in the city of Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. It is home to the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, an art gallery with a focus on the Group of Seven, and the Kortright Centre for Conservation. McMichael Canadian Art Collection
The McMichael Canadian Art Collection (MCAC) is an art museum in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. The museum is located on a property in Kleinburg, an unincorporated village in Vaughan. The property includes the museum's main building, a sculpture garden, walking trails, and the cemetery for six members of the Group of Seven. The collection dates back to 1955, when Robert and Signe McMichael began to collect works from artists associated to the Group of Seven, exhibiting their works at their home in Kleinburg. In 1965, the McMichaels formally reached an agreement to donate their collection and their Kleinburg property to the Government of Ontario in order to establish an art museum.
