Lai Da Marmorera
Lai da Marmorera is a reservoir in the Grisons, Switzerland. It is part of the Parc Ela nature park. The lake with a surface area of formed after the completion of the Marmorera dam in 1954 when the old village of Marmorera was flooded. The village was rebuilt above the lake. The 2007 Swiss mystery film ''Marmorera'' was filmed in Marmorera and at the dam reservoir. The lake is flanked on one side by the route of the Julier Pass. Marmorera
Marmorera (german: Marmels) is a village and former municipality in the Sursés in the district of Albula in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. On 1 January 2016 the former municipalities of Bivio, Cunter, Marmorera, Mulegns, Riom-Parsonz, Salouf, Savognin, Sur and Tinizong-Rona merged to form the new municipality of Surses. Until the end of the 19th century, its population was almost exclusively Romansh-speaking. This figure has however since been in decline, with its 2000 census reporting that 57% of the population now declared German as a first language. The old village was destroyed and flooded when the Marmorera dam was constructed. The current village was built above Lai da Marmorera. Parc Ela
Parc Ela ('' Rumantsch'': Ela Park) is a nature park in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. It is intended to protect the regional biotope, help to promote its sustainable use and give a boost to an area rich in scenery and national cultural assets, but weak economically. Unlike Switzerland's only national park, which is reserved to nature alone, the Parc Ela covers the settled and cultivated territory of around 21 municipalities, notably Tiefencastel, Bergün, Savognin and Bivio. The park takes its name from Piz Ela, the 3,338-metre mountain peak at its center. ''Marmorera'' is a 2007 Swiss film. It tells the fictitious story of the small Alpine village Marmorera, the identity of its inhabitants and a mysterious woman. The mystery film was filmed and produced in Switzerland. Plot (excerpt) Simon Cavegn's grandmother, mother and father were born in Marmorera. Cavegn and his wife ''Paula'' spend their honeymoon at the place of his family's origin. Taking some selfies, the newlyweds notice that a fisherman disappears on the '' Lai da Marmorera'', the reservoir of the Marmorera dam. The Julier Pass ( Romansh: ''Pass dal Güglia'', German: ''Julierpass'', Italian ''Passo del Giulia'') (el. 2284 m) is a mountain pass in Switzerland, in the Albula Alps.
