''La serpiente de cascabel'' ( ''The rattlesnake'') is a 1948 Argentine comedy film, directed by Carlos Schlieper and written by Eduardo Antón and Ariel Cortazzo. It was premiered on March 17, 1948. The film's plot is about a romance between a secondary student (María Duval) who falls in love with her music teacher (Juan Carlos Thorry). Carlos Schlieper
Carlos Schlieper (23 September 1902 – 11 April 1957 in Buenos Aires) was an Argentine film director and screenwriter of the classic era. His father, Hermann Heinrich Schlieper Feldmann (1842-1925), was an industrialist of German nationality and his mother, very Catholic, was Spaniard (from Andalusia). Schlieper, who had three male and three female siblings, received a careful education that included traveling abroad and studies at a high school in Switzerland. He directed some 30 films between 1939 and 1957, writing for over 20 of them. He was particularly noted for his romantic comedies in 1940s and 1950s, directing films such as '' La serpiente de cascabel'' (1948), '' Arroz con leche'' (1950), '' Cuando besa mi marido'' (1950), '' Mi mujer está loca'' (1952) and '' Mi marido y mi novio'' (1955). Cayetano Amadeo Biondo (1902–1986) was an Argentine film actor. He starred in some 65 films between 1936 and his death in 1986 spanning 50 years of Argentine cinema. Career Biondo made his debut in 1936 in the film ''Santos Vega'' and in 1938 appeared in the Mario Soffici film ''Kilómetro 111''. In 1981 he starred in the film ''Tiempo de revancha'' which co-starred actors such as Federico Luppi and Ulises Dumont. His last film shortly before his death was ''Colimbas se divierten''. María Esther Gorostiza Rodríguez (28 October 1931 – 18 May 2019), better known as Analía Gadé, was an Argentine film actress. She appeared in more than 60 films between 1948 and 2001. She appeared in the film '' Emergency Ward'', which was entered into the 1953 Cannes Film Festival. She was born in Córdoba, Argentina, and was the sister of Carlos Gorostiza. Three years after being diagnosed with cancer, she died on 18 May 2019, at the age of 87.
