Luke Kennard (born 1981) is a British poet, critic, novelist and lecturer. He won an Eric Gregory Award The Eric Gregory Award is a literary award given annually by the Society of Authors for a collection by British poets under the age of 30. The award was founded in 1960 by Dr. Eric Gregory to support and encourage young poets. In 2021, the seven ... in 2005 for his first collection ''The Solex Brothers''. His second collection, ''The Harbour Beyond The Movie'', was shortlisted for the 2007 Forward Prize for Best Collection, making him the youngest ever poet to be nominated. In 2014 he was named as one of the Poetry Book Society's Next Generation Poets. His debut novel, ''The Transition'', was published by Fourth Estate in March 2017. Luke Douglas Kennard (born June 24, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils and was drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the 12th pick in the 2017 NBA draft. High school career Kennard attended Franklin High School in Franklin, Ohio near Dayton. As a senior, he was named the ''Parade'' National Player of the Year. He was named the Ohio Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year as junior and senior. He was also a star quarterback in football, and though he shot with his left hand in basketball, he threw with his right hand in football. Finishing high school, Kennard was one of the most sought after recruits in the nation. He was ranked as the No. 24 prospect in his recruiting class by ESPN. 2007 Hawaii Warriors Football Team
The 2007 Hawaii Warriors football team represented the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the 2007 NCAA Division I-Bowl Subdivision college football season. The 2007 Warriors, led by record-setting senior quarterback Colt Brennan, carried a school-record 13-game winning streak, dating back to the end of the 2006 season, into the 2008 Sugar Bowl. The 2007 season marked the first undefeated regular season in school history, ending in defeat in the Sugar Bowl. The Warriors claimed their third-ever WAC championship in 2007 with a victory over defending conference champion Boise State. The championship was the school's first ever outright conference championship in football.
