Los Angeles Plaza
Los Angeles Plaza or Plaza de Los Ángeles is located in Los Angeles, California. It is the central point of the Los Angeles Plaza Historic District. When Spanish Governor Felipe de Neve founded the Pueblo de Los Ángeles, his first act was to locate a plaza for the geographical center from which his town should radiate. De Neve's plaza was rectangular in form—75 Spanish customary units, varas wide by 100 in length. It was located north of the church; its southerly line very nearly coincided with the northerly line of West Marchessault street. On this, the ''cuartel'' (guard house), the public granary, the government house and the ''capilla'' (chapel), fronted. Lugo Adobe
The Lugo Adobe also called the Vicente Lugo Adobe or Casa de Don Vicente Lugo was a house in the city of Los Angeles, located on the east side of the Los Angeles Plaza at 512–524 N. Los Angeles Street. Don Vicente Lugo of the prominent Lugo family of California built the home in what is now called the El Pueblo de Los Ángeles Historical Monument in the 1840s. The Lugo Adobe was designated a California Historic Landmark (No. 301) on July 12, 1939. Lugo Adobe was one of the very few two-story homes in the Pueblo of Los Angeles. In 1867 Don Vicente Lugo donated the Adobe to St. Vincent's School, that later became Loyola Marymount University. St. Vincent's School used the building for two years before moving the School. The building became part of what is now called Old Chinatown, Los Angeles. When Old Chinatown became run down, Los Angeles put into place a redevelopment plan. Carrillo House
Carrillo House was a historic house in Los Angeles, California, US. The Pico House now stands on its lot. History On June 21, 1821, Jose Antonio Carrillo petitioned the Comisionado for a house lot near the "new Temple which is being built for the benefit of our holy religion." The lot, 40x60 varas (114x170 feet) was granted the next day. This is the only record of a grant of a house lot made between 1786 and 1836—just one real estate transfer in fifty years. When Lieutenant Edward Ord made his plan of the City of Los Angeles in 1849, he took as the initial point of his survey the northwest corner of Carrillo's house that stood on this lot; and his bearings from a point opposite that corner gave direction to the lines of the city's streets, and virtually to the plan of the town.
