Loriciel Games
Loriciel (also sometimes Loriciels) was a French video game developing company that was active from 1983 to the early 1990s. The name is a combination of ''logiciel'', the French word for software, and ''Oric'', the first computer they wrote software for. During the 1980s, they developed games for various systems ( Oric 1, ZX81, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Thomson computers and the Atari ST). The first game that Loriciel developed was ''Hubert'' for the Commodore 64. They managed to publish 150 different games within their short lifespan as a company. While several attempts were made to revive the company (first as Loriciel then Virtual Studio), financial difficulties would force this company to shut down after developing '' Tommy Moe's Winter Extreme: Skiing & Snowboarding'' for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. MS-DOS ( ; acronym for Microsoft Disk Operating System, also known as Microsoft DOS) is an operating system for x86-based personal computers mostly developed by Microsoft. Amiga
Amiga is a family of personal computers produced by Commodore International, Commodore from 1985 until the company's bankruptcy in 1994, with production by others afterward. ''Des chiffres et des lettres'' (; ) is a French Television show, television programme which originally aired from 1965 to 2024. It was created by Armand Jammot and tests the numeracy skills and vocabulary of two contestants. It was one of the longest-running game shows in the world and the inspiration for ''Countdown (game show), Countdown'' on the British Channel 4. The game debuted in 1965 as ''Le mot le plus long'' (), using letters only, and reached its present format in 1972. From 2004 to 2024, it was transmitted on France 3 after 39 years on Antenne 2 and later France 2. The Amstrad PCW series is a range of personal computers produced by United Kingdom, British company Amstrad from 1985 to 1998, and also sold under licence in Europe as the "Joyce" by the German electronics company Schneider Computer Division, Schneider in the early years of the series' life. The PCW, short for ''Personal Computer Word-processor'', was targeted at the word processing and Small office/home office, home office markets. When it was launched the cost of a PCW system was under 25% of the cost of almost all IBM-compatible PC systems in the UK, and as a result the machine was very popular both in the UK and in Europe, persuading many technophobes to venture into using computers. ''Jim Power in Mutant Planet'' is a platform video game developed by Digital Concept and published by Loriciel for the Amiga, Atari ST and Amstrad CPC in 1992. It was also released by Micro World for the TurboGrafx-CD in 1993 exclusively in Japan. Bumpy's Arcade Fantasy
''Bumpy'' is a 1989 platform game created by Loriciels. It was published for ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, MSX, Atari ST, and MS-DOS. Gameplay The player controls a ball, collecting items to open the exit. While most platforms are perfectly harmless, some have additional qualities, such as being destructible, thereby granting access to other parts of the screen. Some platforms are on fire, which will turn out lethal unless the player has picked up a water droplet in advance. Legacy A remake of the game was created in 1992 with the name ''Bumpy's Arcade Fantasy''. Loriciels wanted a 16-bit game so they handed it over to Infogrames who made ''Pop-up'' in 1991. Super Skweek
''Super Skweek'' is a puzzle video game developed and published by the French company Loriciel. The game was released on multiple platforms in the early 1990s as a follow-up to 1989's ''Skweek'' (released as ''Slider'' in 1991 in the United States). Gameplay The player plays the Super Skweek, an orange-furred creature of unknown origin. Under the command of the King, the player has to move over blue tiles in order to repaint them pink, fighting off the monster invasion in doing so. There are five islands, each consisting of 50 levels. Some levels contain various monsters roaming around, and certain special tiles such as slippery tiles, explosive tiles, floating tiles and tiles which move the player in a certain direction.
