Live At The BBC (Fleetwood Mac Album)
''Live at the BBC '' is a double compact disc compilation album by British blues rock band Fleetwood Mac, recorded at various BBC radio sessions between 1967 and 1971. It contains many tracks by Fleetwood Mac which are otherwise unavailable. According to Mick Fleetwood, the release was initiated around 1992 by a fan of Fleetwood Mac when they informed him that some BBC tapes of the band were still intact. Fleetwood then contacted the BBC, who insisted that the tapes had actually been destroyed. The BBC was eventually able to supply these recordings to Fleetwood and spent 15 months preparing them for release and clearing the licensing. He was impressed with the quality of the tapes and said that they "represented everything this band was when we first started." "Honey Hush", is a blues song, written by Big Joe Turner (although he assigned the copyright to his wife, Lou Willie Turner), recorded in May 1953 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and released that August by Atlantic Records. It was a number-one song on ''Billboard's'' Rhythm and Blues chart for eight weeks. The single was Turner's second million-seller, following his 1951 " Chains of Love". Recording Turner, a big Kansas City blues shouter, had been spending all of his time out on the road, while Atlantic's Ahmet Ertegun was getting nervous that his backlog of Turner recordings was running low. When Turner was near New Orleans, Ertegun insisted that he make some recordings. Frank Conley Slay Jr. (July 8, 1930 – September 30, 2017) was an American songwriter, A&R director, record producer, and record label owner. He wrote with Bob Crewe in the late 1950s and early 1960s, the partnership's most successful songs, including "Silhouettes," a hit for several artists, including The Rays and Herman's Hermits, " Daddy Cool", and " Tallahassee Lassie". As a producer, his biggest hit was " Incense and Peppermints" by the Strawberry Alarm Clock. "Blues with a Feeling" is a blues song written and first recorded by Rabon Tarrant with Jack McVea and His All Stars in 1947, as the B-side of "Slowly Goin' Crazy Blues".
